Subject: Digital Media Presentation

Assignment 1 – Presentation Rendering on 2D Drawings

A. Objective
Students should be able to develop an understanding and be proficient in using a
digital image editing software.

B. Tasks

Presentation Rendering on 2D Drawings

This is an individual task.

Based on the given drawings (floor plans, elevations, section), develop and render a
set of presentation drawings, 1 drawing per page (A3 size – 420mm x 297mm;
150ppi), altogether 5 pages (including a Cover Page).

For Floor Plans, render the left side with colours (by zoning), right side with
materials (floor finish and rugs); and apply shadow for all furniture (furniture in
white colour).
For Front Elevation, render both sides with the same materials.

The presentation drawings shall consist of but not limited to the following:

1. Scale and name of drawings


2. Legend, if applicable
3. Site surroundings (Trees, roads, ground cover, earth, sky)
4. Colours and materials
5. Furniture
6. Landscape elements, if applicable (Trees, planting, objects, sculptures, water)
7. Annotations (Dimensions, details, names of spaces, voids, heights, floors)
8. Human figures, if applicable

Do a Cover Page showing the the Programme (DEA), Class, Course (DMP) –
Assignment No., Date and Name.
Save the file according to this format: Class_DMP Asg 1_Name.pdf
E.g. 201DEA1_DMP Asg 1_Name.pdf

Marks will be deducted if there is missing information.

Submit your presentation drawings in 1 pdf file (<100MB; combine all 5 pages into
1 pdf file) via the Student Portal on Week 7 (the night before the lesson – 11:59pm).
