FOREWORD
QUNFENG staffs all sincerely thank you for purchasing our high quality
products!

This manual is about the technical data of Model QFT5-15, QFT8-15, and
QFT10-15 block making machines. It briefly introduces the use, working principle,
installation and debugging methods, operating processes, key points of maintenance
and troubleshooting measures. This manual is very necessary for people who take
up the job of management, operation and maintenance of these machines. It will
help you greatly to understand and use these machines which can avoid the damage
caused by mal-operation. Thus these machines can achieve the best use of performance

these machines.

Ⅰ.USE AND CHARACTERISTICS
USE:
QFT series of block making machines mainly produce different specifications of
hollow blocks, porous bricks, solid bricks, curbstones, paving bricks, grass-pavers,
tree-planted bricks and slope-protected bricks, etc. If the products require dual
material feeding, the machine should be fitted with pigment mixer.

CHARACTERISTICS:
The machine is integrated with mechanism, electric system, and hydraulic
system. It is well-designed, compact structure, easy to operate and high efficiency. It
conforms the standard requirement of GB/T8533-1998 <small block making
machine > and JC/T920-2003 <construction industry block forming machine>. The
forming of blocks are finished by vibration and pressing, which mainly depends on
hydraulic pressure and with assistance of mechanism. It can also take advantages of
various kinds of waste residue to reduce the using amount of cement and produce all
kinds of load-bearing and unload-bearing blocks which meet the quality
requirements. The block products are with the same dimension, stable quality, high
density, and the compression strength are over 15 MPa. Meanwhile the blocks are
freeze-proof, leak-proof, sound-proof, and heat-proof. The main characteristics of the
block machine are as follow.

1. Mechanical Design Section
(1) Vibrating box and vibrating table adopt the suspension integrated design
structure. The vibrating table board is made of low alloy and high strength structure
steel which can bear intense vibration without being destroyed and splitted. The
rubber springs which are densely, evenly, optimized distributed around not only
improve effect of vibration reduction, but also insure every point on the vibration
table board has consistent vibrating acceleration and swing, so as to ensure the even
vibration effect, ensure the consistency of concrete product height and evenness of
density. Meanwhile, it also reduces the vibration noise (about 10 decibel.)

(2) After placing the vibrating table on the rubber springs, in order to prevent
the vibrating table from declining, four knock-down orientation device with shaft
and sheath slipping cooperation are installed at the four corners of the vibrating table.
This can keep the vibrating table from moving at the horizontal direction during
vibration.

(3) The vibrating table has a fixed rack device whose height can be adjusted.
Its supporting plane is about 1.5mm lower than that of the vibrating table. When the
vibrating table which is with orientation and knocking functions moves downwards,
it can effectively improve the vibrating forming effect and the density of concrete
products.

(4) The optimum structure of vibrating shaft eccentric parts can make the
vibrating power to satisfy material feeding and molding of different block machines.
Thereby it can ensure all performance indexes of the concrete products are consistent
and stable.

(5)Compulsion type of material feeding structure: The feeding cart usually


adopts the continual harrow according to the shape of the blocks, the thickness of the
products and the arranged manner of the mould’s cavity. There are a lot of harrow
poles which can improve the effect of material feeding, especially to the thin-wall
block, porous brick (about 18mm) and the material feeding with much fly ash. And it
can also guarantee the uniformity of the material feeding and the density, uniformity
of the concrete products. (We can also design another swinging harrow framework
required by our customers)

(6)The novel hydraulic motor design can prevent it from bearing the radical
load, realizing soft transmission. This kind of design enjoys simple structure, reliable
transmission, and low rate of malfunction and is easy to install and maintain.

( 7 ) It usually demoulds the lower mould when demoulding and with rigidity
synchronizer in the way of crutched arms, which can assure that the mould frame
lifts stably and flexibly and the block undamaged. And the rack of the mould is made
of high-strength steel and is welded with special process, which is strong enough to vibrate.

(8) According to our customers, we can add another rigidity synchronizer in


the way of tooth wheel, rack and mesh so as to assure the pressing head elevate or
unelevate stably and the uniform height of the concrete products. It also has another
lock system to ensure that the pressing head will not fall because of the invalidation
of the hydraulic self-lock component.

(9) Besides the traditional color feeding system, we also invent another kind
which is called simple parallelogram color feeding system. Clients can choose based
on demand

(10)The pallet store needs a lot of labor force before, because the pallets are
transferred manually. Now we can use the hydraulic forklift to transport the pallets,
locate and send the pallets automatically since the pallets storehouse is fitted.
Thereby it can largely reduce the intensity of the workers and improve the efficiency.
It can also avoid the damage caused by collision

(11)The height of block brush can be adjusted according to the height of the
brick at the scene. At present, the block brush rack usually is designed with the
fixed bolt sliding in the trough to adjust its height. While our company uses the
pole nut instead of the fixed bolt, it can be adjusted conveniently to base on
demand.

(12)When producing polystyrene block, we develop a new kind of elevator ,
unelevator and conveyor which can add the polystyrene into the mould frame
automatically. It has a advantage that the pallets do not join in vibration. So it
can lengthen the lifespan of the pallet. We can also produce a kind of block
which have concave hole at the bottom.
(13)This equipment is versatile, enjoying strong adaptability. The mould can
be interchanged between the same models of block making machines. We can
also produce another kind of product just changing the mould to meet the
requirements of the market.

2. The design and manufacture of the mould


⑴ The mould of the concrete product has many kinds and high quality. Our
products including the block, the porous brick, the solid brick, the paving stone (color
pigment), the bucket-shape brick, the curb as well as the mould of block inlaid with
polystyrene. The forming height is between 50-300mm.

⑵ In order to ensure the rigidity and wear resistance of the mould and the
pressing head, recently we have introduced the advanced wolfram carbide-steel
product of abrasion- resistance besides the traditional cementite, quenching and heat
treatment technique. The surface rigidity of the steel can reach to 45-68HRC and the
wear resistance is several times higher than the radical material of the steel, even two
to five times harder than the high-speed steel heated by quenching, when infusing the
high WC hydronium. The grinding stratum and the steel structure are combined by the
metallurgy, whose thickness changes in the way of grads and does not have great
altered interface. Therefore it will not fall off or crack caused by concussion.
Moreover this kind of products is excellent in terms of the well combination of the
strong and soft, high red rigidity (≤800℃), well performance, and high technique.
Besides, the shape and dimension will not be restricted. The accuracy and the
coarseness will not be changed. As for the special shape of the mould used on the
QFT10-15 block making machine, we have cooperated with the Hess Company in
Germany. If the processed mould frame is dealt under the numerical control blaze
incise technique, at the same time using the resistance, it can improve the precision,
rigidity and grind-bearing of the mould .The lifespan of the mould is more than 10
million times. The customer can choose it according to their requirements.

3. Electrical control technique


⑴ The advanced electrical and hydraulic unit system controls the material
feeding and molding, which makes the material feeding well-distributed and the
moulding perfect.

⑵We are in the lead in the design of the hydraulic system in the same trade. The
self-governed integration hydraulic station can keep the hydraulic system from

affecting by the vibration and dust, ensuring its stability of work

⑶ The excellent combination of the pressure and the vibration will ensure the
finished concrete products with high density , consistent height and the first-class
quality.

⑷ Our hydraulic pressure components come from famous factories in


domestic market, which can be exchanged with the international famous factory, such
as LISHILE in Germany, ATOS in Italy.

⑸ The pressure and flow of the main hydraulic pump is controlled by the
electrical control valve whose movements are stable and non-impact. We can change
the vibrating frequency through the adjustment of the vibrating motor according to
raw material and actual condition. We can control the molding rate by means of the
different speed combination to meet the requirement of the mode and height of the
block.
⑹ For the controlling of press head, in addition to using electromagnetic valve
and hydraulic one-way valve, we also use an order valve at the mouth of the piston
rod in the oil tank. At the same time, improve the structure of the original stack-of-one-way
valve (The technology has been declared utility model patents), and divide its piston
into two parts, meanwhile add one out-oil controller between the opposite the two
parts. The press head is in floating state when it is brought by the oil tank moving
towards the block. And it can also fix at any place when not working.

⑺ The whole production procedures is controlled by digital PLC which is fitted


with input and output devices. And we can set the flow, the pressure and the technical
data by the touch panel, realizing ideal man-machine conversation. The controlling
system includes the advanced logic-safe lock and trouble-diagnosis device that will
point out the trouble location promptly. Long-distance control function can be used. In
addition there are many groups of data on the screen that we can choose one of them
or reset new data according to our need. The vision can also record automatically the
day-production or the accumulated production. We can inquire about it at any time.

⑻ The main electric-command components are introduced from abroad, such as


Mitsubishi Company, Schneider Company. It enjoys high performance and will not be
damaged easily. We use the long-checking-distance power to examine the motive
journey. We use the frequency conversion control system to monitor the rack of the
stack in the simple line, the elevator, unelevator system and the block conveyor of the
semi-automatic line, the movement of the finger cart of the fully-automatic line as
well as the cuber system. We also add the voice alarm, procedure pause and come
back to the original point in the fully-automatic production line.

Notice:
1. The dimension includes block forming machine, pallets feeder, and block
conveyor.
2. The whole weight includes block forming machine, pallets feeder, block
conveyor, hydraulic unit, electronic control box, aggregate belt conveyor and the
mould.
3. At present, our QFT series block making machines can produce blocks with
height of 250mm and 300mm. The series include QFT5-250, QFT5-300,
QFT8-250, QFT8-300, QFT10-250 and QFT10-300.We can meet the
requirements of our clients.
4. Apart from the standard type, there is another type which adds the pigment
manually. We can supply the product under the special needs of customers’ availability
Ⅲ.INSTALLATION AND DEBUGGING
Machinery installation location:
The installation of the layout should be based on production sites and the production of
technological requirements .In principle, the batching machine, the mixer, the feeder, the pallets
feeder, the block making machine, the block conveyor, the curing room and the pallets
can not interfere with each other. Please arrange them according to the sketch
provided by our company.
Examination, installation and debugging
Before the machine is dispatched our factory, each part should be ensured up to
the standard, and then installed and debugged. Confirming the assembly is qualified
and the machines are operating well, as well as test-running the machine and the
mould, then we deliver the machine when the trial products are qualified. In order to
transport conveniently, the machine is disassembled into the block forming machine,
pallets conveyor, the block conveyor, hydraulic unit and the electronic control box, etc.
The reinstallation in the scene should be according to the design requirements. The
machine needs partial adjustment after transport, and the examination, the installation
and debugging should follow the requirements described as below:

1. Install and debug the block making machine
The block making machine includes the rack, vibration table, the hopper, the
material feeder, demoulding parts, the PH up and down parts as well as the mould.
Please check if there is any damage, missing and shift during the transport before
reinstallation.
The block making machine should be installed with anchor bolt on the concrete
foundation and be fitted with heatproof mat as well. Spirit level should be used to
make sure the feet of the machine fixed at the same level (the diagonal
deviatioan≤1mm). The hydraulic piping and electric control lines are required to connect.
Furthermore, the user should give the electric control lines some protective cases to avoid electric
shock and signal disorder.
Turn on the power, set the control unit as manual pattern, then start the oil pump
to check whether the operating of the pump’s rotating direction is correct or not. To
control the press head manually to observe if the press head will get stuck during
operating. The mould cavity should coincide with the location of the press head board
to make sure there is no any collision and friction when operating.
2. Install and debug the pallets feeder.
The axis of the pallets feeder should be alined with the block making machines.
To adjust the support makes the plane of the pallets conveyor and the pallets plane of
the vibration table at the same level. You should debug the pushing claw of the pallets
feeder exactly when place it. Meanwhile you had better keep the space between the
front of the rack and the vibrating table about 40mm in case of crash and vibrating
resonance.
After withdrawing the material feeder, lifting the press head and the mould frame
and starting the pallets feeder, you should observe whether the pallets will get stuck
and its position is exact or not when it goes into the block forming machine. Then fix
the adjusting bolt after the confirmation.
The speed of the pallets feeding can be adjusted by the valve of the fuel tank. The
speed should be accord with the speed of the block transfer and the transfer should be
smooth without shaking.
Please examine the thickness of every pallet before production. And the thickness
deviation of the pallets should be within the allowance.
3. Install and debug the green block conveyor.
The conveyor is used to covey the green blocks which are placed on the pallets.
And its conveyor belt is drove by the speed reducer, while its speed cannot be

adjusted. Both the centre line and the plane height of the green block conveyor should
be accord with those of the block forming machine. In order to clean it conveniently,
the pallets feeder does not have to be fixed to the floor. Before the regular production,
you can tail convey about 2 - 3 boards of pallets. After making sure the transmission
is stable without shaking, and then you can start regular production.
The time set for the conveyor belt must ensure the speed of pallets conveyor and
the green block conveyor should be consistent and the pallets don’t shake while
conveying. Besides, make sure the pallets carrying green blocks should be stop
exactly at the pallets stopper.
4. Joint running of the machine, electricity and the hydraulic unit.
After all the necessary accessories installed and well-debugged manually, the
machine should trial convey 5- 10 boards of pallets automatically to observe its
movements, clearance, position,indicator lamp. Confirm all the above items before
finished debugging.

5. The trial production and the control of the block height


After debugging, you have to conduct the trial production to check each part of
the machine. Then check the quality of the finished product, adjust the position of the
pressing head to ensure that the height, density and the appearance conforms meet the
requirements.

Ⅳ. PLC CONTROLLER
The whole producing process of the QFT series concrete block making machines are controlled by
PLC automatically It can also be controlled by hand, which is easy to operate and efficient. With
data input and output device,it realizes perfect man-machine conversation.
Install the electrical control system
●The power supply must be three phases, with rated voltage 380V whose
deviation is +10% and the frequency is 50/60Hz. The main wire should not be
less than 16 square millimeters (copper wire) or the 20 square millimeters
(aluminums wire).They should be connected to L1, L2, L3 in the electrical
control box.
●The electrical control box should be connected to the outside creepage breaker
supplied by the user. And the rated electric current should be around 100-150A.
The electricity of the creepage action is around 30-80mA.
●The rack of the main machine, the hydraulic unit and the electric-control box

should connect ground wire. The resistance is ≤4Ω;The protected grounding wire
should be ≥6 square millimeters;

●We should connect the sensor to terminal block or socket in the junction box
according to line number or the number of the electrical socket. Connect the fitted
aerial electrical line from the electrical control box to each junction box.

●Connect the power cords of the motor to the corresponding end line in the electrical
control box.

●You should connect each proximity switch, hydraulic unit and each motor firstly
and then connect the in-power supply line in case of electric break.
Debug the electrical control system
1. Check the following items before debugging
●Ensure that power cords L1,L2,L3 and the output end line U1,V1,W1 to U9,V9,W9
are connected correctly and the voltage is within the compulsory range.
●Ensure that the jointing line of the hydraulic unit and the proximity switch are
correctly connected.
●Ensure that connect the electrical control box, hydraulic unit and the main machine
to the ground line correctly.
●Ensure no short circuit because of the left electrical line fragment, loosen terminal
block or the other things. No tools left on the electrical control box or the machine.
●Ensure all the proximity switch are at the correct position.
●Ensure no loosen bolt and terminal block.
●Ensure the components of the machine and the hydraulic unit are installed
correctly.
●Ensure no person on the machine.
2. Begin to debug.
●Close the breaker of power supply(QF1).Close the door of the electrical control box
when the control box electrify.

●Turn on the lock switch which is on the operation table. Loosen the urgency stop
and put the state switch on manual condition.

●When on the touch panel controlling condition, touch each proximity switch with a

screwdriver, then its states should be shown on the screen. For example, when you
use the screwdriver to touch the down limit proximity switch, the indicator light is
on, at the same time, the indicator light of the pressing head become black from
transparency which proves that the proximity switch is in the good state.

●Start the oil pump motor in star shape(star jointing),after three seconds, it will
change to normal state(triangle jointing).If it appears abnormal condition, you should
stop the machine to check the jointing line of the motor U1,V1,W1,U2,V2,W2。
Check whether the turning direction is right or not after removing troubleshooting. If
not, cut off the power and change any of two power wire .The current of the pump
should be 20A under the empty performance.

●Turn the CCDOOR rocker (SA3) to the left to open the CCDOOR. The touch
panel will show: the CCDOOR is opening. The output indicated light Y10 of the
PLC is on, meanwhile the AC contact (KM12) electricifies. The CCDOOR will stop
in time when its sensor approaches the limit switch (SQ1).
Notes: if you want to open CCDOOR, the CCCART must be back(X3 in the PLC
must be on) otherwise it can not perform

●Turn the CCDOOR rocker (SA3) to the right to close the CCDOOR. The touch
panel will show: the CCDOOR is closing. The output indicated light Y11 of the PLC
is on, the AC contact (KM13) electrifies. The CCDOOR will stop in time when its
sensor approaches the limit switch (SQ2).

●Turn the CCCART rocker (SA4) to the right, the CCCART will move forwards.
The touch panel will show: the CCCART is moving forwards. Then the
electromagnetism valve YV1, YV9, YV11 will electrify. The CCDOOR will stop in
time when it approaches the limit switch (SQ4)
Notes: Only when the CCCART is above the pressing head (The indicated light X4 is
on), the MF is at the down limit (The indicated light X7 is on), CCCART must be
closed (The indicated light X1 is on), SCCART is at the back limit (The indicated
light X60 is on), and otherwise it can not perform

●Turn the CCCART rocker (SA4)to the left, the CCCART will move back. The
touch panel will show: the CCCART is moving back. Then the electromagnetism

valve YV2, YV9, YV11 will electrify. The CCDOOR will stop in time when it
approaches the back limit switch (SQ4)
Notes: The pressing head must be at the up limit when the CCCART is moving back
(The indicated light X4 must be on), otherwise it can not perform

●Turn the PH rocker(SA5)to the up side, the PH will go up. Then the touch panel
will show: the PH is going up. Then the electromagnetism valve YV3, YV9, YV11
will electrify. The PH will stop in time when it approaches the up limit switch (SQ4)

●Turn the PH rocker (SA5)to the down side, the PH will go down. Then the touch
panel will show: the PH is going down. Then the electromagnetism valve YV4, YV9,
YV11 will electrify. The PH will stop when it go down to the low limit switch.
Notes: If the PH is going down, the CCCART must be at the back limit (The
indicated light X3 must be on), SCCART must also be at the back limit (The indicated
light X60 must be on), and otherwise the PH cannot move downwards.

●Turn the MF rocker (SA6)to the up side, the PH will go up. Then the touch panel
will show: the MF is going up. Then the electromagnetism valve YV5, YV9, YV11
will electrify. The MF should stop when it reaches the up limit switch (SQ7).
Notes: If the MF goes up, the CCCART and the SCCART must be at the back limit,
otherwise it can not go up.

●Turn the MF rocker (SA6)to the down side, the PH will go down. Then the touch
panel will show: the MF is going down. Then the electromagnetism valve YV6,
YV9, YV11 will electrify. It must stop when the MF comes to the low limit switch
(SQ8).

●Turn the PALLETS FEEDER IN rocker (SA7)to the right, the pallets feeder will
move forward. Then the touch panel will show: the pallets feeder is moving
forward. Then the electromagnetism valve YV7 will electrify. The pallets feeder
should stop in time when it comes to the front limit switch (SQ9).
Notes: The pallet feeder can move on unless the MF is at the up switch (SQ7)

●Turn the PALLETS FEEDER BACK rocker (SA7) to the left, the PALLETS
FEEDER will move back. Then the touch panel will show: the PALLETS FEEDER

is moving back. Then the electromagnetism valve YV8 will electrify. The pallets
feeder should stop in time when it moves to the back limit switch (SQ10).

●Turn the SCCART rocker(SA11)to the left, the SCCART will move forward. Then
the touch panel will show: the SCCART is moving forward. Then the
electromagnetism valve YV14, YV9 will electrify. The SCCART should stop
when it comes to the front limit switch (SQ18)
Notes: If the SCCART is moving forward, the PH must be at the up limit, the mould
frame is at the down limit, close the SCCART, the SCCART table must be at the
down limit and the CCCART must be at the back limit

●Turn the SCCART rocker(SA11)to the right, the SCCART will move back. Then
the touch panel will show: the SCCART is moving back. Then the
electromagnetism valves YV15, YV9 will electrify. You must stop if the SCCART
is moving back to SQ19.
Notes: The PH should be at the up limit (The indicated light X4 must be on) when the
SCCART moves backwards, otherwise it cannot move backwards.

●Turn the SCDOOR rocker(SA12)to the right, the SCDOOR will open. Then the
touch panel will show: the SCDOOR is open. Then the electromagnetism valve
YV16, YV9 will electrify. The SCDOOR must stop if it comes to the limit switch
(SQ20).
Notes: The SCCART should be at the back limit (The indicated light X60 must be on)
if you wan to open the SCDOOR, otherwise you cannot open it.

●Turn the SCDOOR rocker(SA12)to the left, the SCDOOR will close. Then the
touch panel will show: the SCDOOR is closing. Then the electromagnetism valve
YV17, YV9 will electrify. The SCDOOR should stop when it comes to the limit
switch (SQ21).

●Turn the SCT rocker(SA13) up, the SCT will go up. Then the touch panel will show:
the SCT is going up. Then the electromagnetism valve YV18, YV9 will electrify.
The SCT must stop if it goes up to SQ22.
Notes: If the SCT goes up, the SCCART must be at the back limit.( (The indicated
light X60 must be on). Otherwise the SCT can move upwards.

●Turn the SCT rocker(SA13) down, the SCT will go down. Then the touch panel
will show: the SCT is going down. Then the electromagnetism valve YV19, YV9
will electrify. SCT must stop if it goes down to the low limit switch (SQ23).

The operation of the electrical control system

Notes:
●If you press the buttons for the conveyor belt, the block conveyor, the rake,
the PH vibrating and the moulding for the first time, they will start. If you
press these buttons again, then they will stop. For other buttons, pressing those
means start, loosening them means stop except the urgency button, manual
and auto button.
●Use the clean hand without glove to touch the touch panel. Do not scrape
the touch panel by hard things.
●Turn off all the power in lightning storm day.

1. Manual operation
Turn the MANUAL/AUTO (SA8) to the manual condition, the manual operating
sequence as follows:
●Press ‘MF Down’ to let the MF move to the down limit, check if the up surface of
the MF and the moving surface of the material feeder cart at the same level.

●Press ‘CCCART IN’ to let the CCCART move to ‘FRONT LIMIT’. You must
observe if the lower parts of the PH interfere the material feeder cart and the
movement of the material feeder cart.
●Press the RAKE BUTTON and the PRE-VIBRATION at the same time. Start
PRE-VIBRATION, after several harrowing, press RAKE again to stop harrow;
●Press CART BACK to let the CART move to the back limit.
●Press SCT DOWN to let the SCT move down to the down limit;
●Press PH DOWN, pre-press the coarse material about 3-5mm
●Press PH UP to let the PH move up to the up limit. Press SCDOOR OPEN to
open the SCDOOR, then put the fine material into the SCCART, and then close the
SCDOOR.
●Press SCCART IN to let the SCCART move to the front limit to feed pigment.
After feeding pigment, press the SCCART BACK to let the SCCART move to the
back limit;
●Press PH DOWN until it moves to 10mm above the MF, then loosen PH DOWN
and press FORMING at the same time to let the PH fall with vibrating. When the
PH falls to the down limit proximity switch, it will stop automatically;
●Press CCDOOR OPEN to open the CCDOOR. After feeding the material, close the
CCDOOR. Press SCT UP and PALLETS FEEDER BACK to let the claw of the
PALLETS FEEDER at the back limit and the SCT at the up limit;
●Press MF UP to let the MF move to the up limit;
●Press the PH UP to let the PH move to the up limit;
●Finally press “Pallets Feeder in” and “Block Conveyor Start/Stop” to transfer the
pallets with green blocks, meanwhile transfer the empty pallet to the vibrating
table.
Notes: Check if the touch panel shows the information of the performance when the
above procedures are performed. To observe each performance hand together or
collide. Press “Urgent Stop” button to stop the machine, if there is any abnormal
phenomenon.
2. Automatically operation
●Before AUTO production, you should check if the machine resets. The CCCART,
SCCART are at the back limit, PH, MF, SCT are at the up limit, CCDOOR,
SCDOOR are in the closed condition.
●Set the related parameters (You can see the details in parameters catalogue)

●Turn the MANUAL/AUTO BUTTON to the AUTO condition and press START
AUTOMATICALLY, the machine will operate automatically according to the
following sequences.
Notes: The first press is for fully automatic, and the second time is for semi-automatic
which means pause after one mould. The fully automatic stats will show on the
screen. You can set the target –moulds which produced automatically on the touch
panel, and the machine will stop automatically when it achieves the target. Switch
to manual state, the machine will stop auto running, and then operate manually.

Press the button on the touch panel to set the corresponding parameters.

If all the parameters have been confirmed correctly, you can save it as fixed
product number then you can use it next time. Make the staff that is familiar with the
production skill and machine operation to set the parameters. And reduce the possible
change of the set parameters.

The introductions of all the parameters in touch panel are as follows:


It is zero if the parameter has not been used and PLC will not accept the
parameters beyond the set range.

●The current product No.—Enter the screen of parameters setting to set the current
product No. Press “enter” to transfer the parameters saved in advance, or press
“next page” to another parameter setting screen.

●Parameters saving. — Write the set number in the blank to save it or substitute the
old ones. The number ranges within 10, if it is larger than 10,it may lost after
cutting off power.

●Choose Rake----Press “Choice”, then choose “rake forbid” or “rake work”, the rake
state will display on the left side of “choice” key. Normally, choose the rake on
working state.

●Choose pigment feeding system---press “Products Choice” on parameters screen or
functions screen to choose working models with color feeding system or not.

●Choose the types of blocks---Enter the products type screen to choose hollow
blocks or color paver. If you choose the color paver, the press head have the
pre-press coarse material function during the automatically production, then go
back to the original position. If you don’t choose the color feeding system, the
movement will stop at this procedure and wait for the manual feeding. Press “Press
head down” one or two seconds after the pigment feeding, then the machine will
run automatically again..

● CCDOOR opening time---the time of opening the CCDOOR generally is 0.3-0.55

seconds. And we can control the open size.
●CCDOOR open times---The times of opening the base concrete hopper is one time.

●Material feeding time----the time for the base concrete hopper to control the
amount of coarse material. The parameter is 0.1-0.5seconds normally.

●Cart feeding times—The times for the concrete feeding cart going in and out. The
parameter is 2-3 times normally.

●One-way feeding time—The time for the feeding cart going back in its initial
position. is 0.35 to 0.55 seconds.

●Pre- vibration delay time after the cart on the position----the delay time after the
cart on the position then starts feeding the coarse material with vibration. Normally,
it is 0.2 to 1.8 second.

●PRE-VIBRATING TIMES--The times for pre-vibrating. Normally, it is 1 to 3 times


related to the humidity of the coarse material. More vibration times, less vibration
time.

●Pre-vibration time----the pre-vibration time when feeding the material, the time
directly affect the density of the products, it is 0.5 to 3 seconds referring to the
humidity adjustment.

●Pre-vibration interval time--The time for the pre-vibration interval which appears
when the vibration is more than one time. The parameter is 0.5-1 seconds.

●The time of the press head quickly descend ---The press head press descends
quickly for saving time. The vibrating motor starts running after the press head
finish the descending during this time. Normally, it is 1 second.

●Moulding and pressing time---the press time after the press head is at the limit

place (the height of the blocks or bricks), normally it is 0.00 second.

●Vibration discharging time—the time for the vibration stopping when the PH is on
the certain position. It is normally 1 to 2 second.

●PH discharging time —the time for the press head lifts a little bit when demoulding
for avoiding the inner stress of the block, in case of the crack on the blocks, it is
0.01 to 0.03 second.

●The time between pallets arriving and mould frame descending---The mould frame
moves down after the pallets already on the vibration table ,normally it is 0 to 0.5
second.

●Running time for block conveyor--- The time for the green block conveyor
delivering the green block. The parameter is 8-12.

●Raking time---It is raking when the raw material feeding cart goes to the forward
position, it is takes 4 to 8 seconds normally then stop.

● The time of the press head up before the pallets in---The press head moves
upwards before the pallets comes in. The height of the press head is controlled by
the time. In this way, the waste will not fall on the surface of the blocks.

The parameters for the color feeding system are as follows:


●The feeding times of color pigment----the times of the SCCART moves to the
upper of the MF. Normally it is one time only.

● The open time of pigment hopper---the time of pigment door open


automatically which control the open size of the hopper door.

●The times of hopper door open---the times of pigment hopper door open
automatically.

●The pre-pressing time---the time between the pressing head press and before it
makes the hole.

●Pre-vibration time of pigment---When the pre-press time of the press head is


over then the pigment pre-pressing vibration begin. After the vibration is over
the press head goes up to the original position.
After completing all the above step. Go back to the touch panel to setup the
parameters and save the type of product for use later.

The pressure and flow setting:


It has two phases commonly in one movement. For example, the cart have the
phase of front flow, back flow and front pressure, back pressure. In the meantime, it
has a time parameter for the cart move in high speed.
We suppose the parameters of the cart are as follows:

Back-phase 25 2.0
low speed ---------

The cart is in the flow 99( the highest flow) and pressure 6.0Mpa when it moves
forward in high-speed, after 0.8 second, it moves forward in back phase of low flow
25 and low pressure2.0 Mpa. The cart will stop until it moves and reaches the front
limit, the flow and pressure go zero, and the electromagnetism breaks off.

Commonly, all the movements start in high-speed flow and high pressure first
(except mould frame up and pallets feeder in, demoulding and pallets feeding in
usually is “slow first, then fast”), then move in low flow and low pressure when it
near the limit, so that it reduces the inertia. If the front time is too long, the parameters
of back phase will not work, because the limit switch is on before the front time is up.

Set of block stacker
Stack layers----the layers of block stacker can stack in automatic state. For
example, we supposed the stack layers are 5, we start the machine with pressing
“Auto On/ Off”, it will stop when it cubes 5 layers. Press the button again, it restarts
and reworks again.
Delay up---The block conveyor moves the pallets with blocks in the stack
position in automatic state, the green block stacker will delay some time and up. The
delay time is usually from 0.5 to 1second.
Stop machine:
Turn off the oil pump, conveyor belt, lock the key on the off side. Cut off the power
in the control box, and the general power supply.
Troubleshooting for general electrical failures:
1. The machine does not work: it is power supply wrong commonly. Check the
voltmeters, if it shows fault voltage, check the power supply line and breaker. If the
three phases voltage are right, check the control voltage220V. If it is fault, mostly the
220V fuse is burnt, renew it. If the voltage 220V is right, this must be wrong of
DC24V. The fuse is burnt or the switch power is damaged.
2. The rake does not work: check its state in the parameters, if it is prohibited,
choose it and start it. Another reason is the current is too low of rake thermo relay.
Reset it again.
3. Single action can not work: Some actions of the machine are interlocked, if the
interlocked actions can not work by manual operation, you should press (see detail in
the debugging section) and follow Step 5(interlocking principle) to check whether
the proximity switch indicator light is on or not during the action. If the location is
normal, please check whether the corresponding electromagnetism performs or not,
and deal with it according to the indicator light follow the circuit. If the indicator light
for the electromagnetism is on while it still has any action, then the problem may be
caused by the deficient oil pressure of the hydraulic system. If so, you should check
and adjust the related hydraulic components. If the indicator light for the PLC output
is on while the electromagnetism doesn’t, then it’s due to control wire malfunction.
Remove the problems according to the actual situations.

Ⅴ. TROUBLE SHOOTING OF MECHANICAL SYSTEM

The malfunction of the block making machine, the malfunction removing measures
and maintenance of the machine are as follows:
● Coarse Concrete Cart
1. The broken of raking stick of the raking shaft. The stick is made of 45 or 40Cr steel
which got special treated, and with high rigidity and tenacity, but it is easy to break
when it is often blocked by agglomerated material. And the broken stick is possible to
damage the moulds when it falls down to the mould frame or the cavity of the mould.
In addition the raking will not be uniform for the broken stick. So please replace it in
time when the stick is broken.
2. Change the brush of the coarse concrete cart if it wears out.
3. The moving arm of the feeder cart is driven by hydraulic cylinder. Add lube on the
joint of pin and shaft and repair or replace them when they wear out, otherwise they
will get stuck. Meanwhile you should observe the movement of the feeder cart to
avoid deviation.
● Vibration box and vibration table
1. The one which is driven by hydraulic motor called two shafts synchronization
vibrator (Vibration box for short).The engine oil will be atomized and inflated for the
ascending temperature caused by the high speed circumrotating of the compulsion
synchronization gear wheel. Therefore, we add the breath valve and blowhole to the
lid of the vibration box, and connect the pipe from the lid to the outside machine
frame. The output side of the blowhole should be down. Because the evaporation, the
oil will drop off, then you often need to check the oil level. Add 30# engine oil in time
when the level drops to the down limit of oil meter. The height for adding oil should
be on the middle line of the oil meter, at this time the oil will submerge 2/3 height of
gear wheel which is on the downside of synchronization gear.

2. The vibration box and hydraulic motor is connected by the V-belt, the V-belt will
loose which will affect the impact of V-belt transmission and the vibration, and the
density of the products as well. So check the impact of V-belt regularly, tighten or
replace it in time.

3. It is seldom that the bearing of vibrating box broken and malfunction of hydraulic
motor. If it happens, the vibration will be abnormal or stop. You should stop the

machine immediately and replace them. Make sure the direction of the furthest end of
the eccentric shaft should be the same to ensure synchronization vibrating impact.
And you should adjust the installation interval of the bearings carefully.

4. The vibration table will deflect to the left and right sides. If the vibrating scope is
not so big, check the sheath worn out or not. If the vibrating is abnormal or deflect too
gravely, that gear must be worn out. Then disconnect the box and replace the
synchronization gear at the same time. Make sure the direction of the furthest end of
the eccentric shaft should be the same to ensure synchronization

5. The surface for bearing the pallets of vibrating table should around 1.55mm
higher than the fixed bracket, and the bearing surface should be in the same level,
otherwise it will affect the vibrating impact and the density of products will reduce.

● The guiding system


1. There are four guiding columniation for the framework, the press head and mould
frame is matched by the orientation core and column of the guiding seat. The
orientation core should be stable, stagnant and no deflection when the mould frame
goes up and down. If the orientation sheath wears out too much, change it in time for
making sure the equality of four sides’ space which belongs to the mould frame and
pressing head.

2. Make sure the bottom of mould frame should impact the pallet when the mould
frame is put on the pallets after we change the mould. The mould frame must be
stable when it goes up and down. Normally, we should readjust the connection point
of pulling pole and orientation seat for making sure that the plate beared by the
orientation seat are with same height; and adjust the compress scope of the spring
properly.
●Vibration reducing system
There are rubber springs for vibration reducing in the pressing head and the
vibrating table. The rubber spring will be aging and worn out that make them invalid
and cause the products are with inconsistent and uneven density. Then adjust or
replace all the springs according to the actual situation.

Ⅵ. ADJUSTMENT AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The user should choose the hydraulic oil series which is suitable for the climate,
and environment conditions in your own country. We recommend the customers use
the anti-wear hydraulic oil. The cold area can use No.32 hydraulic oil, and the warm
area can use No.46 anti-wear hydraulic oil, and choose different degrees of mucosity
of hydraulic oil according to the season and temperature. Different brands and types
of the hydraulic oil cannot mix together.
The anti-wear hydraulic oil added to the tank should be new and filtrated before
adding into the tank(the filtration precision under 20μm). And the amount should be
above the middle line of the tank. Add the oil in time when the level lower than the oil
meter. In order to keep the hydraulic system clean, keep the water and dust from
going into the tank.
The hydraulic system adopts the oil sucking and returning filtration. And the
filter is with a one-time core.(expendable) Change the filter core when the new
machine have been used for 3 months and check, clean the tank and the filter .From
then on, to check, clean the tank and change new oil annually according to the use
frequency of the machine. And change the filter core every 6 months.
The cooling system adopts oil returning cooler. The cooling water enters from
the down meatus of the cooler, and exceeds from the up meatus. The cooling water
should be clean and the flow of the cooling water should be ≥50L/min, and the
temperature should be among 16~32℃, which all should be controlled according to
the oil temperature. The oil temperature should be controlled among 25~50℃. And
the cooler should be cleaned every 4 or 6months.
When operate the new machine for the first time, please check the level, the
temperature of the oil and the pipe’s connection. After confirming everything is OK,
start the hydraulic motor and look over the running direction of the motor .If its
direction is opposite to that of the oil pump, please change the wire connection of the
motor firstly, then operate by hand to check again. Then run the hydraulic pump at
least 2 hours with the motor non-functioning. And then operate the oil tank and the

motor manually without production. If all of the actions are in order, operate the
machine automatically. You should trial-run the machine without production after
every long time stopping. Before every operation, please check the temperature, the
level of the oil and the temperature and the flow of the cooling water and take records
as well.
All the hydraulic parts are checked as qualified products, and the whole
hydraulic system are adjusted before deliver products. If there is any change after
operation, please adjust it at the production spot.

Ⅶ.TROUBLESHOOTING OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM

●Normally, the PLC is high-tech product and seldom has failure action. If failures
happen, do contact us as soon as possible for troubleshooting.
●There are DC and AC for power source, the signal output via intermediate relay to
AC contactor or electromagnetism valve winding. The wire mark and the circuit
match well and correct when ex-workshop. The cable should be connected to the
ground when site installation. Non-professional electrician will not be allowed to
change the circuit wires arbitrarily. If there is any unusual phenomenon, please
consult our after-sale service.
●The whole machine doesn’t work: Normally, there is something wrong with the
power source. Check the voltage of the three phase’s power in the control box. If the
voltage is abnormal, check the air break switch and the incoming power supplying
circuit. If the three phase’s voltage is normal, then check the control voltage (220V),

maybe the 220V fuse burnt, and then changes the fuse. If the 220V voltage is normal,
then it should be some problems happen to the DC 24V, and normally it is caused by
the DC fuse burnt or the switch power damaged.
●Raking motor doesn’t work: Firstly, check the raking state in the PLC. If its
performance is forbid, then press “choice” key to restart. Sometimes it may be caused
by the small current of heat relays or tripping for over-load. If it is for the current, please adjust
the current higher, otherwise to find out the reasons for over-load.
●Single action can not work: Some actions of the machine are interlocked, if the
interlocked actions can not work by manual operation, you should press 【PLC
controller】 and follow Step 5(interlocking principle) to check whether the proximity
switch indicator light is on or not during the action. If the location is normal, please
check whether the corresponding electromagnetism performs or not, and deal with it
according to the indicator light follow the circuit. If the indicator light for the
electromagnetism is on while it still has any action, then the problem may be caused
by the deficient oil pressure of the hydraulic system. If so, you should check and
adjust the related hydraulic components. If the indicator light for the PLC output is on
while the electromagnetism doesn’t, then it’s due to control wire malfunction.
Remove the problems according to the actual situations.
Ⅷ. USE AND MAINTENANCE OF MOULDS
The commonly used moulds
The commonly used moulds include: blocks, hollow blocks, standard bricks
(solid bricks) and pavers, curbstones, slope-protecting blocks, and grass pavers etc.
In order to play the block machine’s maximum production function and improve
its productivity, we always make reasonable arrangements according to the shape of
the block when we design moulds. Because our block making machine are with
compulsion feeding and vibration functions, so the products of the blocks and porous
bricks are with these advantages “thin wall, thin rib and high block” ,and its energy
conservation function which are satisfy our customer’s requirements. The height of
the blocks we can make is 300mm, the wall thickness and rib thickness can reach is
18mm according to the requirements of varied blocks and porous bricks. The vacancy

Our hollow blocks have 190mm (width) and 90mm (width) series, and
omnipotence fill-in blocks.
190mm series block include: 390×190×190mm(K422、K422B、K422C、K422D、
K422E)
There are four kinds of assistant blocks, the sizes are: 290×190×190mm(K322、
K322A、K322B、K322C、K322E),and the K322A have one side open for
combination core pole;190×190×190mm(K222,K222B、K222C、K222D、 K222E).
90mm series block include: 390×90×190mm(K412、K412B、K412E)
There are three kinds of assistant blocks, the sizes are 290×90×190mm(K312、

Our hollow block includes porous bricks (load bearing) and hollow block (non
load bearing)

D24-5(120×115×90mm) 、 D24-7(180×115×90mm) 、 D24-S(240×115×53mm) and

produce non-load bearing blocks when use light-weight material. The users should
inform us if you have special requirements of the weight bearing of products, then we
can set parametes of wall thickness, rib thickness and void ratio when make the
moulds.

3. PAVERS, CURBSTONES, SLOPE PROTECT BLOCKS AND GRASS


PAVERS MOULDS.
We can make these moulds with different specifications. Customers can make
choice according to their requirements and also can provide drawings for us to
produce.

Use and Maintenance of Moulds
The mould should be designed according to the shape, the height of the block to
ensure the effect of material feeding and forming. As the mould is precise, especially
the space between the press head and the MF’s cavity need special processing
technology. Therefore, the customer should consider the kinds of the moulds, the
installing manner and the mould frame’s cavity before purchasing. You should pay
attention to the following points:
1. To avoid falling, collision when transport, installing and replace the old moulds.
2. You should pay attention to the marks of press head parts and mould frame parts
which are matched, then ensure they will not get stuck and rub. You should adjust
carefully the space between the press head button board and the mould frame’s cavity.
3. The lower surface of the MF joining board which matches demoulding should be
at the same surface and should parallel with the base-level of the lower parts of the
MF
4. The four connecting holes which match the mould frame and orientation shaft of
demoulding seat will wear out for intense friction. As result that affect the forming
even the friction, interference between the press head and MF cavity and damage the
mould. If this kind of situation happens, change the wearing sheath or spare parts of
core shafts.
5. Change new moulds when you find the dimension of the finished products are
beyond the deviation ranges.
6. Weld timely when you find that there are cracks and seam welding on moulds. 7.
Adjust the diameter of the aggregate when you find the mould cavity and press head
wear out quickly.
8. Ensure the press head and the feeding cart, the MF and the feeding cart, the MF
and pallets will not interfere and collide when the block making machine is working.
9. Clean concrete debris on the mould with air compressors or soft tools. Do not
stroke or scrape with sharp tools.
10. Clean and lubricate the replaced moulds and put them in flat and dry place to
avoid deformation.

Ⅸ.USE AND MAINTENANCE OF AUTO COLOR FEEDING STYTEM


The color feeding machine is used when produce color bricks. Its functions and
structure are same with the coarse material feeding machine only without the raking.
And it is also drove by the hydraulic unit, only adding one hydraulic

component----transition part. Furthermore, add some corresponding functions in PLC
unit for manual, automatic operating. The key points for installing color feeding
machine are to match the steps of coarse material feeding machines. Some tips are as
follows:
1. The color feeding system should be installed above the block conveyor. The
surface of the pavers must be bright and flat, so the block brush must be removed.
2. Install the color feeding system in front the main machine before the adjustment.
And for the simple line, you should adjust the height of the feeding cart before
installation. The adjustments for the bottom board of the feeding cart are similar with
the main machine. The lifting height of the bricks can be realized by the limit switch
controlling the oil tank, and it should make sure the bricks can be transited smoothly.
The time set for the color feeding cart back should be proper which can make sure the
vibration has disappeared when it returns. Then we can guarantee the quality of the
finished bricks.
3. The color feeding cart is one-time only system without raking system and
pre-vibration which will avoid the aggregate material turnover. Keep the surface of
the press head clean to guarantee the color layer flat and clean.
4. We also design the parallelogram-shape color feeding system with simple structure,
needing feed color manually.

Ⅹ.RAW MATERIALS AND RATIO OF CONCRETE BLOCK


RAW MATERIALS
Specification:(According to the requirements in” Normal Concrete Small
Hollow Block” of GB 8239 of P.R.C.):
1. Cement:
Portland slag cement shall conform to GB175, GB/T2015, GB12958 or GB/T
1344.
2. Fine aggregate:
Sand or other fine aggregate materials shall conform to GB/T 14684.
The normal fine aggregate is the common sand.
The mud content should be ≤3.0%, mud blocks should be ≤1.0%.(The mud
content refers to the total amount of silt, scraps and clay with diameter﹤0.08mm. The
mud block refers to the one whose diameter is﹥5mm.which will become﹤2.5 after
washing and nipping. )
3. Coarse aggregate: crushed stone、pebble shall conform to GB/T 14685 and
crushed stone shall conform to YBJ 20584. Their maximum diameter are not
larger than l0mm.. And if you use stone scrap, the diameter should﹤0.15 and its
content should﹥20%.

The proportion of the coarse material should be proper.
The contents of the needle-shape and leave-shape coarse material
should ≤25%. (Those of length are more than 2.4 times than the average
are called needle-shape particles, and the ones whose thickness is
less than0.4 time of the average are called leave-shape particles.)
The mud content should be ≤2.5% and mud blocks should be ≤1.0%.( the
explanations for mud and mud block are same with the above.

4. The industry waste residue includes stone powder, stone scrap, and slag which
should conform to the following requirement:
a. The mud content should be ≤3%
b. The burnt things should be ≤8%
c. It can not include the mixture which may affect the performance of
the concrete
5. Fly ash: Shall conform to GB1596.
6. Additive: shall conform to GB 8076.
7. Pigments: Shall conform to JC/T539.
8. Water: Shall conform to GBJ63.

Notes:
1. In order to ensure the quality of the block and right working of the mould,
the aggregate (crushed stone, stone power, etc.) must be less than 10mm,
moreover, it will be better if the largest aggregate dot not exceed 1/2 of the
block’s rib.
2. When use the crushed power as aggregate, in order to ensure the quality of
the paving stone, the power among the crushed power must not exceed 20%,
or there will come forth some problem like crack or flaw.
FORMULA FOR STANDARD BLOCK(FOR REFERENCE ONLY):
1. Surface layer (It is only used to produce paving stone, curbstone and so on.)
A:Formula: color cement: sand: water = 1:1:0.25
B:Formula: (pigment: white cement = 1:10): sand: water = 1:0.25
Pigments: Oxide red, Chromium oxide green, Oxide yellow, Oxide black,
Notes: the prpportion of pigment and white cement are between1:10~1:20
according to the quality of the pigment.

Ⅻ.Safety Regulation
1. Only when fully grasp and understand the contents of this instructions,
construction of the machine,manual and automatic procedures,then the staff can
operate the machine.

2. When overhauling, oiling and disinterring, power must be turned off;when repair
the hydraulic system, please fix firmly all possible falling components for oil tank
without pressure to avoid accidents.
3. After overhauling, tools must be taken off from the machine and installed
protector well;
4. After power is turned on,operators must operate seriously,can not leave without
authorization; No touching or approaching the movement of the machine.
5. Before start machine, check up and make all the parts of machine in its original
position, in particular make sure that feeding cart is under hopper;
6. Switch off power supply after the machine stop working.

XIII. MATTERS NEED ATTENTION


1. The main problems are more popular among dust, wearing and tearing, and the
leak of hydraulic parts caused by the working condition of the machine. You should
pay attention to the leak checking of the hydraulic parts and the assembly joints, and
lubricate the activity joints. In principle, the maintenance for our machine is required
the same as normal construction machinery, keep maintenance according to the
production conditions.
2. Lubricate every part as required, and the No.30 engine oil in the vibration box
should submerge the 2/3 of the down wheel of the synchronization gear. And adding
the grease to the nipples daily.(See the attached Lubricating Diagram.)
3. There cannot be aggregate particles or other materials with diameter>10mm in the
mixtures, especially steel and other hard things. So we recommend you using the
hoppers with sieve which can prevent the big particle falling down.
4. Concrete is easy coagulating. So concrete should be used as soon as possible,do
not delay long time. The concrete remains left on the machine should be removed
after every shift.
5. The users should replace the seal parts or totally changed when the cylinder, valve,
pipe or any kind of hydraulic parts leak. The machine can not be runned with
problem. You can look over by hearing, seeing and touching when the hydraulic pump
and motor working. As anything is out of the way, stop and check the machine, then
fix it.
6. Use the regular hydraulic oil which with bubble-vanishing and good viscidity, and
clean the filter core on time, and filtrate the oil one time at least annually.
7. To make sure that the temperature of hydraulic oil lower than 80°C,the reserve
water for cooling system can not be less than 8 cubic meters, and the cooler water’s

flow can not less than 18 cubic meters/h for making sure the effect of cooling.
8. Set the parameters of material feeding, vibration, the pressing time according to the
size and shape of the products. To improve productivity based on the high quality and
adjust the amount and frequency of feeding when needed.
9. The limit switches should work well and the bolts and others for fixed should not
be loose. If find any abnormal, stop the machine at once to remove the malfunction.
10. Do not use unqualified pallets which maybe damage the machine and cause vary
in height. Make sure pallets are clean before sending into the pallets feeder. The
number of the pallets in the pallets feeder should not be over the store, otherwise the
oil tank of the pallet feeder will be over-load.
11. Adjust the altitude of the leading track and the bottom board of coarse concrete
cart according to the height of mould frame when changing the moulds. And the user
should fasten the bolts one by one after finishing changing the mould, check the
dimensions and the locations of the parts, fix the proximity switch, etc. Then test the
machine in this process” manual-auto-produce”. Check the measurement, density and
the looks of the products. If everything in order you can put into production.
