Ans. It is said that parties reflect social and political


divisions in the society through the following ways:
a. Parties divide the society on the basis of ideologies
that its supports and endorses.
b. As the political parties put forward their manifestos,
the people decide to support different parties and
they get divided. Thus political parties create social
and political divisions.

Example : There are regional based parties which may


at times demand greater autonomy or even
secessionism from the Union. This creates a division
in society based on politics.

parties as regional and national party on following
basis.

Conditions required:

four states.

Ans. Political parties: A political party is a group of people who

government.
Need of Political Parties in India:
1. The rise of political parties is directly linked to the
emergence of representative democracies
2. As societies became large and complex, they also needed
some agency to gather different views on various issues
and to present these to the government.
3. They needed some ways, to bring various representatives
together so that a responsible government could be
formed.
4. They needed a mechanism to support or restrain the
government, make policies, justify or oppose them.
5. Political parties fulfil these needs that every representative
government has.
We can say that parties are a necessary condition for a
democracy.

i. The constitution was amended to prevent elected

and criminal cases pending against him.
iv. The election commission paved an order making it
