8. A two-celled tube as shown in the Figure (1) is subjected to a torque of (20)


60Km. Determine the shear stress in each part and angle of twist per meter
length. Take modulus of rigidity of the material as 30GN/m 2 and length of tube
is 5m.

the disc.

plastically. Determine the twisting couple applied to the shaft, if the yield
stress for the shaft material is 145 MPa. Also, determine the couple for
full yielding.
