People’s travel behavior and its impact on locals

The travel behavior of tourists extensively affects the locals and once-pristine
communities and places.
From my point of view, these effects can be categorized into two main sides:
those that have a positive impact and the ones that are highly controversial.
In the first place, we have to understand that in most of the cases, the secluded
population in some of the spots that are brimming with tourists has a different
culture and approach to life than is usual in the western space. Here, the influx
of obnoxious and blaring visitors is highly likely to change the antique customs
of the place. In the same time, the lax regulations that are usually not even
enforced by the authorities who turn a blind eye, allow some shortsighted
tourists to strongly exacerbate the already-bad environment conditions by
littering.
In same time, when implemented really well, sustainable tourism may have an
extremely positive impact on locals, even in sparsely populated or developing
areas. In this case, we are mainly talking about the injection of money, process
that can boost the economy on a whim. We have seen examples of areas that
were absolutely devastated or miserable, but recovered in the blink of the eye
due to the increase in tourism.
To sum things up, the globalization in an inevitable process, but it has to happen
gradually and with non-destructive consequences. We have to make sure that
the next generations will still be able to enjoy the spectacular and breathtaking
views that are attracting millions of tourists nowadays. Moreover, for that to
happen, we have to practice tourism smartly, and it will have the desired benefic
effect.
