INTRODUCTION

 SULAM (Service-Learning Malaysia University for Society): “SULAM is a


course-based, credit-bearing educational experience in which the student
participates in a structured service activity that meets identified community
needs, reflect on the service activity and experiences to achieve desired
learning outcomes, in such a way as to gain deeper understanding of course
content, a broader appreciation of the discipline, enhanced sense of
personal values and civic responsibility.”
 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the concept whereby companies
act to balance their own economic growth with the sustainable social and
environmental development of their areas of operation.
 Community service is a non-paying job performed by one person or a group
of people for the benefit of the community or its institutions.
 Environmental Sustainability is defined as responsible interaction with the
environment to avoid depletion or degradation of natural resources and allow
for long-term environmental quality.
 Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs
 Project management is the practice of initiating, planning, executing,
controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet
specific success criteria at the specified time.

APAKAH PERBEZAAN ANTARA KHIDMAT MASYARAKAT ATAU


SUKARELAWAN DENGAN PROGRAM SULAM INI?
Khidmat Masyarakat: kerja-kerja kemasyarakatan yang dilaksanakan secara
berkumpulan bagi meringankan beban golongan yang memerlukan bantuan dalam
menjalani kehidupan. Contoh – gotong-royong membersihkan kawasan persekitaran
dan mengecat serta membaiki rumah/bangunan.
Sukarelawan : aktiviti yang dilakukan dengan sukarela secara individu atau
berkumpulan yang memberikan manfaat kepada individu lain atau masyarakat.
Contoh – misi bantuan bencana, pendidikan dan sukan.
SULAM : memberikan khidmat kepada komuniti melalui penyampaian ilmu yang
dipelajari di bilik kuliah serta kemahiran yang diperolehi bagi menyelesaikan
permasalahan setempat seterusnya meningkatkan kualiti hidup penduduk.
Contoh : penanaman cendawan, pembangunan taman herba, pengajaran katering
dan makanan.

GUIDELINE FOR SULAM, SDG & PMP PROGRAM.


 Each lecturer can decide a specific area of project to be carried out by the
students or can let students decide the activities on their own.
 The students shall form a team of max 5 persons per group and organize the
program.
 Register at google sheet.

 The students MUST organize the program rather than only participating in
others programs.
 There will be no assessment mark (ZERO) given to students who fail to
organize and participate in CSR activities.
 Students are expected to carry out systematic steps which may include in part
