DEM Courtyard Area Client Stakeholder Interview Questions

This will be a shared space for the botany class’s greenhouse, students, teachers, and administration and so you
will need to interview a few clients. Come up with interview questions for each of these stakeholders as to
what they would like to see in the space. For example, to get started suggested things to questions would be:
The overall flow and usage of the property Lighting, irrigation, etc.
Trees, bushes, flowers, grass, ground covering Grade changes
Pathways, Sidewalks and Driveways Shadow placement
Hardscaping (pavers, concrete, etc.) Size of planting
Water features, pools, jacuzzis, ponds, etc.
Structures such as greenhouses, pergolas, gazebos,
sheds, fences, etc.

Questions to ask Students

1. Would you like another commons area over on that side of the school?
2. If available would you eat out there?
3. Should there be a limit to how many students can be out there at once?
4. What time of day would most people go out to enjoy this area?
5. Do you think people would leave the school if they had access to outside?
6. What teacher should we have to watch over this area?
7. What activities can we have out there to make it more fun?

Questions to ask Teachers

1. Would you ever let the students outside?
2. If we had an area would you teach outside some days?
3. If you see a student misbehaving outside what would you do?
4. How closely would the teachers monitor it?
5. Do you think it could be a distraction to other classes?
6. What activities can we have out there to make it more fun?
7. What kind of classes would be allowed to go outside?

Questions to ask Administrators

1. Would you allow teachers and students to go outside?
2. Is it safe to let students out there alone?
3. What restrictions do you have?
4. What activities would you like to see us have out there?
5. If a class thinks of something to put outside do you have to approve?

Questions to ask Botany Class

1. What kind of plants do you guys want to have outside?
2. How big are the green rooms?
3. What are the restrictions on the green rooms and plants?
4. How many green rooms do you want to fit outside?
5. What do we need to have out there for the plants to live fully?
