Postdoctoral Positon On Construction Materials From Mine Tailings
We are currently seeking to hire a postdoc in the areas of geotechnical engineering, cementitious
materials, and materials characterization at Colorado School of Mines. This position is initially one year
with possibility of extension to two years. The new hire is expected to start by July 1, 2022.
The applicant’s job duties include the following: Conducting laboratory and field studies aimed at
production of construction materials from sulfidic mine tailings. Our research team has conducted
chemical, physical, mineralogical, and geotechnical characterization of tailings and we will collectively
explore new technological solutions targeted to produce lightweight aggregates, ceramics, and
cementitious materials from mine tailings. The applicant will assist with the preparation of project
reports and scholarly manuscripts. For more information about the ongoing work, please visit our
