fented to Us, That they have, with great La-
bour and Expence, prepared for the Prefs a
Book, Entituled, f^irtruvitis Britannicus, or the
Plans, Elevations, and Se-

aions of tlie Regular Buildings, both Publick and Private, in Great
Britain ; with variety of New Defigns. In Two Volumes. And
have, therefore, humbly befought Us, to grant them our Royal Pri-
vilege and Eicenfe for the fole Printing and Publifhing thereof
for the Term of Fourteen Years. We being willing to give all
due Encouragement to Works of this Nature, are graciouily plea-
fed to condefcend to their Requeil : And We do, therefore, by
thefe Prefents, grant unto them, the faid Colen Campbell, John Ni-
cholfon, Andrevi Bell, William Taylor, Henry Clements, and Jofeph
Smith, their Executors, Admin iflrators, and AlTigns, Our Royal Li-
cenfe for the fole Printing and Publifhing the aforefaid Book, En-
tituled, f^irtnroius Britannicus, or the BritiJIj Architeâ, for the
Term of Fourteen Years from the Date hereof : Striédy forbid-
ding all Our Subjects within Our Kingdom, and Dominions, to re-
print the fame, either in the like, or in any other Volume or Vo-
lumes whatfoever ; or to import, buy, vend, utter, or diftribute
any Copies thereof reprinted beyond the Seas during the Term of
Fourteen Years, without the Confent or Approbation of the faid
Colen Campbell, John Nicholfon, Andrew Bell, W illiam Taylor, Henry
Clements, and Jofeph Smith, their Heirs, Executors, and Affigns, un-
der their Hands and Seals firft had and obtain'd, as they will an-
fwer the contrary at their Peril : Whereof the CommiiTioners, and
other Officers of our Cudoms, the Mafler, Wardens, and Company
of Stationers are to take Notice, that the fame may be entred in the
Regifter of the faid Company ; and that due Obedience be rendred
thereunto.
