INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Coffee shops and cafeterias are already well-known over the world, with a variety

of names, establishments, and products. Almost every coffee shop stays in business for

a long time because of the satisfying and steady income. A way to make the most out of

the plantations using the coffee beans is putting up a Coffee shop where coffee beans

will be roasted, ground, brewed, and served, offering customers a very fresh, eco-friendly

product, with a local taste. And applying innovation to this business carries a risk but can

probably maximize profit.

The researchers came up with a unique type of coffee shop, the “mobile

cafe”, wherein the business is the one that goes to the customers’ area to offer and

serve coffee and snacks with the use of a movable vehicle. This is to give people a

new flavor of business as there are times when customers get tired of repetitive types of

business.

However, coffee quality or flavors are no longer the most important factor in

attracting customers anymore. The mobile cafe will also satisfy the market’s eyes, for

the business will provide an aesthetically pleasing environment. Most people are now

choosing the coffee shop because of the ambiance and people are less likely to enjoy a

cup of coffee in a crowded local coffee shop. As Ponte (2002) said, the coffee chains

nowadays sell an ambiance more than just good coffee.

The rise of the coffee shops does not just emphasize the quality of the coffee, but

also the ambiance that attracts people to relax and hang out. And we all know that people

nowadays love to share the places they’ve been to in their social media accounts that is

1

Business Department

why individuals especially the youth prefer to go to places where it is aesthetically

pleasing or “Instagrammable”; visually appealing in a way that it is suitable for being

photographed for posting on the social media application which is Instagram.

The Bus Bean is a unique coffee business that offers a new ambiance to

customers. It is a business wherein the employees prepare the coffee and snacks

not in an ordinary kitchen but inside the minibus. A coffee shop where you can not

only sip specialty coffee but also has a calm and unique experience while doing things

that require concentration. It can also be used to relieve stress and anxiety brought by

the present pandemic.

The business will be operated in a movable vehicle that is why it will be transferring

from one place to another, it is expected to be operating in three barangays in

Dasmarinas, Cavite which is Zone IV, San Jose, and Victoria. The Bus Bean’s goal is to

satisfy the customers by the products and store set-up with the very best of goods and

services that the business can offer.

Coffee has been one of the best-known beverages and one of the favorites since

the beginning until now. Consuming coffee has not only become a habit for the olds, but

nowadays even the young ones are also enthusiastic about consuming coffee. For

hundreds of years, coffee has proven to be an essential commodity throughout the world.

A report of www.fairtrade.org.uk (May 2012) stated that coffee is the most valuable

and widely traded tropical agricultural product because 7.9 million tons of coffee were

produced in 2011, of which 6.2 million tons were exported. Twenty million smallholders

produce 80% of the world’s coffee and an estimated 1.6 billion cups of coffee are drunk

worldwide every day.

Coffee production in the Philippines began as early as 1740 when the Spanish

introduced coffee in the islands. It was once a huge industry in the Philippines, which was

the fourth-largest coffee-producing nation 200 years ago. As of 2014, the Philippines

produces 25,000 metric tons of coffee and is ranked 110th in terms of output.

However local demand for coffee is high with 100,000 metric tons of coffee

consumed in the country per year. Coffee was introduced in the Philippines as early as

1730, when a Franciscan friar planted the first coffee tree in Lipa, Batangas. Coffee

introduced from the Philippines came from Mexico. Coffee production was later promoted

by Augustinian friars Elias Nebreda and Benito Varas in other parts of Batangas such as

Ibaan, Lemery, San Jose, Taal, and Tanauan.

Coffee plantations became part of the foundation of Batangas' economy and Lipa

was later labeled as the coffee capital of the Philippines. But now, Amadeo, a municipality

down south of the province of Cavite has been revered as the nation’s coffee capital.

The Philippines is home to the four classified commercially known types of coffee.

These are Arabica, Liberica, Robusta, and Excelsa. Each type has its characteristic

appearance and taste. Liberica popularly known as “kapeng barako” is literally translated

as “masculine or macho coffee” because of its strong, robust flavor. Excelsa, on the other

hand, has a sweet flavor. Only 7% of this variety is grown in the Philippines provinces of

Quezon, Bicol, and Sorsogon.

It has a wider production of around 85%, is more resilient, cheaper, and enjoys

high demand globally. Arabica beans are the more expensive variety and are favored by

top baristas and most coffee connoisseurs. It takes its name from Arabia - the source of

3
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

its origins. Robusta dominates domestic production. Robusta Coffee is used as a blender

to Arabica as well as in instant coffee.

It grows ideally in the lowlands up to nine hundred (900) million. The ideal rainfall

range is 1,500 to 2,500 mm, fairly well-spread, but needs a dry period for flower initiation.

It is tolerant of a wider range of soil with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.5. Robusta coffee grows

in many locations in the Philippines. It is about eighty-five percent (85%) of the total coffee

variety grown in the country.

These are exciting times for the coffee industry in the Philippines. A cup of local

coffee symbolizes Filipino strength, determination, love of life, enjoyment of good cuisine,

and camaraderie with friends and family. During the COVID pandemic, the coffee industry

in the Philippines is flourishing, with more and more coffee brands being promoted online.

New coffee farms and coffee shops are opening all across the country. Indeed, the

Philippines is enjoying the aroma of freshly made Filipino coffee.

EMPLOYMENT PROCESS

The employment process is a series of steps that companies use to hire the best

workers. It is important in a company as it creates a better hiring outcome. The following

are the process on how employment selection happens:

Figure 1.3: Employment flowchart

There are six steps that the Bus Bean must follow when hiring new employees.

The first step is announcing the job position that needs to be filled, the management will

be listing out the desired qualifications for the job and when these have been established,

the management will be picking where to advertise the job and one of the platforms will

be on Facebook, posters and online job boards. The second is reviewing the candidate

applications, the management will go through all the applications and resumes to narrow

down the candidate pool and reject those that are underqualified. After thoroughly

choosing the candidates, the manager will be conducting in-person interviews to better

assess the qualifications and judge their compatibility with the company. Once everyone

25
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

has been interviewed, the management will be choosing the best fit for the job. There will

be second and third candidates in case the first pick declines the job offer or does not

pass the next phase which is testing. Testing includes drug tests, criminal background

checks, and personality tests. After passing the test, the applicant will be welcomed on

the board as a new employee and proper orientation and training will be done.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

A pre-employment requirement will be the verification of a candidate’s information

and background. These are the list of things that will be requiring for the jobseeker:

1. PSA Birth Certificate

2. SSS E-1

3. NBI Clearance

4. PAG-IBIG

5. PhilHealth

CHAPTER II

MARKETING ASPECT

The marketing aspect is designed to plan, price, promote and distribute the needs

and wants of the potential customer. This system of business activities makes everyone

aware of the company’s product or services to be sold in the market.

The success of the business would be possible if a market strategy will be

developed. In developing a market strategy, the business should know how to sell the

products to its target customer and how to compete with its competitors demanding

attention.

MARKET ENVIRONMENT

The bus bean is part of the food retail industry that serves locally made coffee and

pastries. This kind of business is similar to a fast service restaurant, but the only difference

is that it is not a franchise. The proposed business has partially and easily prepared

beverages and snacks. In addition, the food industry is inexpensive and very popular,

knowing the fact that food is a necessity.

In addition, Filipinos have been enduring stressful work and coffee is the perfect

alternative to relieve stress from work. With that, the demand for coffee has increased

such as hot or iced with locally produced pastries. In that case, demand for food has

resulted in an increasing number of coffee shops across the Philippines and around the

world.

In terms of market size, Philippine’s food industry is highly competitive that is why

numerous businesses are active and the market size is continuously growing. The market

does not only comprise locally made food, but even international active players are in, in

60
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

that manner, demand for food products is the main driving force of the economic growth

in terms of value sales.

Since the market size is actively growing, competition in the market is highly

competitive as well. Among the key players, the pricing structure is the key factor that

differentiates them from each other.

However, the bus bean is unique, offering inexpensive coffee and pastries but

there is an assurance to provide delicious food and a good customer experience. The

market comprises different players such as Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Café Tribu, and

others.

These coffee shops are usually popular for their taste and easily available which

attracts their target customers. However, the bus bean is convenient, and there is a new

level of excitement since it is a mobile café that is aesthetically pleasing that can attract

a large volume of customers.

COMPETITION

Competition plays an important role in market research to analyze other parties

who offer similar products or services. Competition may be direct or indirect, in this study,

direct and indirect competitors are considered depending on the location. However, the

location of this business cannot be determined because it is a mobile café which the

business owners will transfer from one location to another around in Dasmariñas.

Even so, a trend towards café’s began to establish in the Philippines. There always

had been famous coffee shops that have established strong foundations with their clients

and good quality products. These possible competitors that can be found around the

61
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

Cavite area are Coffee Project, Café Tribu, TeaBliss Café- Dasma, and Vintage Brew

Cafe.

These shops are fixed and located in a specific location. However, as a mobile

coffee shop, the owners are the ones who approach and bring the beverages and pastries

to the potential customers.

To put it gently, this study will not be the first business to be built because coffee

shops are as trendy as ever which coffee lovers are willing to travel to get their favorite

drinks. Although, the mobile café industry doesn’t have much competition yet, because

this is a timely, unique, and friendly business that goes around.

This competition in the market is normal but if the coffee and snacks to be sold are

toothsome and find a good spot, then owners can run a successful venture.

Competitor A (Coffee Project) 250 per day 250

Competitor B (Café Tribu) 150 per day 150

Competitor C (TeaBliss Café- Dasma) 70 per day 70

Competitor D (Vintage Brew Café) 40 per day 40

INDUSTRY

The food retail industry in the Philippines is an extremely competitive market in

which coffee shops are active players and gained prominence up to this time. The coffee

segment consists of roast coffee which incorporates caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee,

that is prepared with coffee machines, as well as instant coffee, which includes soluble

coffee that does not need further equipment for preparation. The segment does not

include ready-to-drink coffee beverages because these are included in the non-alcoholic

drinks market instead.

In retail, the biggest market player in the coffee segment is Nestle which is in

Cagayan de Oro that accounts for 80% of the instant coffee market. Other important

market players are Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Panera Bread, Costa Coffee, Peet’s Coffee,

Dunkin’ Donuts, and Caribou Coffee.

These market players employ various strategies to capture a larger market share.

Since there is a large growing market of coffee drinkers, it allows more coffee shops to

invest in this industry. The success of this business depends on how they understand the

primary needs of their target market, the right location, and the quality of the service. This

market is beneficial to the coffee drinkers but also benefits the whole coffee industry and

the economy.

MARKETING MIX

PRODUCT

The foundation of this study is the product that will be offered in the market. It is

the core in the business that should be of high quality to achieve business objectives. The

bus bean will innovate its product mix to capture and dominate the coffee shop industry.

One thing that can be done is by modify product lines, expanding its market to grow.

The research team will be tasked to come up with new delicate products under the

bus bean brand name to ensure that the business will meet the pressure of the competing

brands in the market and to meet the preferences of the consumers.

The following are the main categories of the bus bean products:

64
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

1. Locally made coffee (iced or hot)

2. Pastries (classic donut, oreo cheesecake, chocolate frosted donut, and tiramisu

cake)

3. Finger food (nachos, ham and roll cheese, cheesy roll bacon, ham and bacon roll,

and French fries)

PRICE

The table below will be the list of prices that the bus bean will offer. The hot

beverages have only two sizes, and they will range from P90 to P100. However, cold

beverages have three sizes that range from P70 to P90. The sweet treats such as cakes

and donuts price range are P70 to P80. For our finger food, it will be P50 to P60.

The bus bean will use economy pricing and competition-based pricing wherein it

involves setting prices concerning the prices of the competitors. Also, they would like to

serve their potential customers at an affordable price but with excellent goods and

services.

The products will be kept outstanding so that customers will consider them to be

high value. However, the proponents will consider the impact of costs since it is directly

affecting the pricing strategy of the business.

PLACE

This component determines the venue at which the customer can access the

products. Normally, most business owners are investing in a chain of coffee shops,

located at the center of the city. However, the bus bean will be more innovative when it

comes to its business location. It will be something different and new level of excitement.

The proponents will utilize a used and decorated bus which the owners will transfer from

one place to another around the Cavite area specifically in various barangays

Dasmariñas. This kind of strategy will increase the demand since proponents will

encounter various types of people who will be potential clients when they stop at a specific

location.

PROMOTION

There will be a lot of ways on how the owners will effectively promote their business

so that the potential customers will be informed and induced to buy and try the product.

Aside from traditional promotional strategy, the bus bean prefers a promotional internet

strategy because it is a major win for any business to improve their marketing efficiency.

The entrepreneurs will utilize internet promotional strategies to reach more customers

and earn more sales. It is easy and fun to do an online promotion because it involves

creating infographics, blogs, posts, videos, photos, and other original content to give

people an inside look and valuable information about the bus bean.

The promotional strategy of The bus bean is through Social Media such as

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and more. With the use of social media, the

prospects can create their own Facebook page, and other accounts to maintain their

presence on social media platforms. This is the best effective promotion strategy because

it can help the business to provide information about the products and offerings and to

build a relationship that convinces the customers to purchase and establish loyalty with

the brand. Aside from that, Flyers may appear conventional, but their effectiveness is

obvious; nothing compares to reaching out to people in person and handing them a leaflet

that tells them about what the business can offer.

PRODUCT CONCEPT

TYPES

The bus bean offers different types of coffee such as brewed and iced coffee. Since

not everyone wants an ordinary hot black coffee, The bus bean will add some flavors and

toppings to it to make it unique and delightful. They can also customize drinks as to the

level of sweetness and bitterness based on customers’ preferences. The different

varieties and flavors of The bus bean coffees for hot and brewed coffees are the bus bean

Latte, Hot Milky Latte, Hot Mocha Coffee, and espresso which is the best seller of a cafe

in a hot beverage. Another Hot and Brewed coffee that offers is Hot Macchiato and

Cappuccino.

Also, the business will offer an original brewed black coffee for those customers

who are not fond of sweets. The iced coffee edition is the most popular among the 3

categories because it is cold and easy to sip. Since the Philippines is a warm country,

most individuals prefer iced beverages since it helps lessen the tiredness in the body and

help ease the mind. Classic Café Latte, Vanilla Iced Coffee, Iced Café Mocha, White

Chocolate Mocha, and Iced Cappuccino are the iced beverages that the shop will be

offering.

DELIVERY

Supplier The Bus Bean Customer

Figure 2.5: Delivery

The delivery of The bus bean will revolve around from the supplier to the shop than

going to the customers. The café would order its' raw materials from the chosen supplier

and the supplier will transport them to the café. Most deliveries are done by the suppliers

themselves with their vehicles. When ordering directly from the supplier, the cafe will

receive the list of available supplies at the beginning of the week via e-mail. The sheets

contain information about what products are available and their price. The cafe needs to

confirm its order to avoid miscommunication regarding ordered products, again normally

70
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite

via e-mail. Deliveries are normally made the day after the orders have been placed and

arrive 2 to 5 days upon negotiation.

Nowadays, providing online delivery is a good idea to help the business. With that,

a lot of customers are relying on online services because of their simplicity and

transparency However, since this business is a mobile café, the business will never use

any mode of delivery because the business will transfer from one location to another. The

business itself will bring convenience to its target market.

Factors affecting revenue

The bus bean will indicate the possible factors affecting business revenue through

identifying the weaknesses and threats in the business. These weaknesses and threats

will limit the company to meeting its goals and objective, especially gaining revenue and

this will become a problem for the company in the future. Some of the possible factors

are the following:

1. There will be limited customers at the initial stage since the products would not

have been promoted. At this stage, the potential customers are still weighing on

their purchasing decision. As a result, there will be slow growth in sales and low

levels of profits.

2. There will be strong existing competitors that may hinder the growth of the

business. These competitors such as Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and milk tea shops

have a strong brand identity in the market which may be a threat to the bus bean.

However, the bus bean should learn how to handle these competitors by studying

their strategies or performing benchmarking.

MARKET SEGMENTATION

The bus bean is a mobile cafe that is perfect for any age, gender, occupation,

lifestyle, and many more. However, the owners can use the demographic profile of the

target market through market analysis. With this, they will be able to identify the number

of populations by age group which is relevant to the demand and supply analysis. This

cafe is perfect for an urban setting in the background with a large population in various

barangays in Dasmariñas.

With the data provided above, these are the barangays that contain a large number

of populations. Also, these are surrounded by various establishments and subdivisions

where a lot of individuals can purchase the proposed products. The prospects assume

that not only did the older age groups drink more coffee than their younger counterparts,

but they were also more likely to be coffee drinkers in general. People ages 15 to 24-

year-olds drank coffee, while most of the people aged 60 and older were coffee drinkers.

TARGET MARKET

The target market of The bus bean is primarily random people whose age ranges

from 15 to 64 and who are residents of barangays around Dasmariñas. To name, the

Table 2.5: Projected Annual Supply

The projected annual supply is based on the direct competitor’s capacity. The

average customers of the competitors were 127.50 per day and this is multiplied to 360

days to get the annual customers and divide by the number of competitors to get the

capacity of 11,475 for the year 2022 and this is multiplied by the growth rate of 1.34%

for the succeeding years. After that, the result is multiplied by the frequency of going

which is to get the projected annual supply.

As per the data stated above, there is a continuous growth in terms of both the

demand and supply in the coffee industry. By knowing this, the business is now at ease

since it can be foreseen that there will be still demand and supply for the future use of

the upcoming coffee shop. It is important to know that there is a growth in the industry

that the said business is planning to enter because it will help not only the business

itself but also the industry since by knowing that there is a future in the industry, the

source of both the demand and supply will not be a problem in the future.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD

The waste disposal method is an action that requires proper waste management

from its initial to final disposal of wastes. This comprises the disposal of waste, together

with monitoring and regulation of the waste management process in the City.

In The Bus Bean, the biowaste such as peelings is segregated from the

biodegradable, non-biodegradable, recyclable, organic, and dry waste. Then, preparation

CHAPTER V

SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECT

Corporate Social Responsibility

By ensuring that the processes involved in corporate operations are

environmentally sustainable, the Bus Bean will be environmentally conscious.

Furthermore, the company will follow Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). To maintain

cleanliness and orderliness, the firm will follow correct trash disposal procedures.

This will also aid in the reduction of pollution, which causes a variety of ailments

and health issues for many Filipinos. The proponents of the firm will set aside sufficient

funds to ensure that waste management is carried out effectively. Furthermore, the Bus

Bean will provide a unique perspective on the foods we satisfy foods.

The business's purpose is to teach people, particularly children, that contamination

and insanitation may be avoided by properly handling and presenting these items.

Are there any critical risk factors that might affect your operation? (Economic

stability, forecasts, investment opportunity, internal organization)

Risk factors are elements that may obstruct the organization's growth or

achievement of its declared or expected goals. Depending on the business, the objectives

could be various, and as a result, the number of risk variables rises in lockstep. Internal

risk factors are those that are developed as a result of a company's operations. These

are directly linked to the organization and its operations. In comparison to external risk

factors, because these risks are developed within a company, they may be foreseen and

addressed with more ease.

133
NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Amafel Bldg. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Business Department

Risks are sometimes created as a result of an organization's human capital.

Incompetent employees, labor shutdowns, unethical employee practices, dishonesty,

money embezzlement, and so on are only a few examples. External risk factors are a sort

of risk that arises from outside of a company.

These could arise from a variety of factors, including competition, the economy,

nature, and government policy. External dangers are difficult to predict due to their unique

nature, and the countermeasures are as difficult. External risk factors are risks that occur

outside of a company's control. Competition, the economy, nature, and government policy

could all play a role. Because of their unique character, external threats are difficult to

forecast, and solutions are equally complex.

Finally, the firm is burdened with hazards resulting from many risk variables that

have a significant influence on the entity. The Bus Bean anticipates, plans for, and

prepares to avoid and remedy hazards and damages due to a variety of risk factors.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC BENEFITS

Over the past decade, the value of the coffee industry has almost doubled because

billion cups of coffee are currently consumed worldwide each day and the market keeps

growing. Even in today’s era, younger generations are driving the demand for cafés, and

are willing to spend more money on both local and international brand cafes. With that

global demand, this will benefit not only the economy but also the local coffee farmer. By

continuous support, consumers and local farmers play an important role in the economy,

the growth and sale of coffee can help restore livelihoods and boost the economy and

society.

is important to cultivate society with the people who will keep the business afloat.

Contribution to the Economy

sustainability of communities. With this business being proposed, it can be as important

as other coffee shops, since it will be a great factor for the growth of the economy.

Also, the coffee industry can extend its market which can also help other industries

such as Coffeemaker Manufacturers, Coffee Roasting Companies, Coffee Equipment

Distributors, and many more industries which are affected and can help to boost the

economy.

to the community. Not only the business itself but also the people will be able to contribute

to the economy. Additionally, an increasing number of demands will help keep the

economy growing once consumers will continuously patronize the business.

of the community because the local government can benefit from it. Through this

business, the government will be able to receive taxes from the consumers and the

business itself. As a result, the local government will be able to generate funds that will

be contributed to the city’s development. This development and progression will benefit

not only the government but its people as well.

Contribution to the Environment

mitigate the impact and risk, the business will have to work carefully and evaluate the use

of appliances and equipment to reduce the amount of usage because this will trigger

Business Department

The pre-operating business has been made to know how many months will be

taken before the normal operations start and it will take five months of doing the necessary

things before the actual operation.

Marketing is important as it drives product or business awareness, especially to

the target market. The situation that can affect the success of the business is that the

business is not known by the target market but with the use of modern information

technology, the business will be introduced on social media platforms. Data analysis,

competitor’s analysis, survey, marketing mix, demand, and supply have been used to

understand the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and how to

enhance the business strategy. Based on the survey, 70.1% of the target market are

willing to buy the product and have the capability to buy the proposed product.

In terms of the product's price, most of the customers are willing to spend less than

100 pesos followed by 100 to 150 pesos of price.

In technical terms, the business is offering locally made hot and cold coffee, with the size

of small, medium, and large, as well as pastries and finger foods. With the amount of 70

pesos to 100 pesos of price. The required equipment and furniture, as well as inventories,

have been determined and calculated, for the business to know how much money will be

needed before operating the business. The Bus Bean will be in an open and wide area to

accommodate more customers.

To be aware of the financial information of the proposed business, projected

financial statements for five consecutive years were exhibited. It is to see the financing

needs and the best times to make capital expenditures and to monitor cash flow, change

pricing or alter production plans.

138

Lastly, the proposed business does not only focus on gaining profit but also

contributes to the socio-economy. Having a business means providing jobs to the

community, especially to the unemployed individual, and having a mobile cafe helps the

suppliers, as well as the local farmers. Government contribution through paying taxes and

CONCLUSIONS

With the researchers’ findings and discussion presented in the previous chapters,

the researchers conclude that establishing a mobile cafe business in Dasmarinas City is

feasible and viable. This is based on the three locations of the proposed business; it is

easily accessible and can be seen by possible customers around the area.

The area where the mobile cafe will be parked and operated is an open and wide

area that can accommodate more customers. And with the result of the survey, the

acceptability rate has shown the stable outcome of the proposed business. The target

market’s preferred price is less than one hundred pesos while the business is offering

products ranging from seventy to one hundred pesos, which concludes to have a high

probability of the customers availing the product.

When it comes to finances, in the projected income statement of The Bus Bean,

there is a net loss for the first year but it is expected since it is new and is requiring more

sales to cover all the operating expenses. Despite that, the projection showed a positive

income generation for the second up to five years of operation.

RECOMMENDATION

Based on the findings and conclusions presented, the following recommendations

are suggested:

1. The researchers recommend that The Bus Bean has to maintain high customer

traffic so that it can lead to higher sales, this would include studies on adding more

locations for the mobile cafe, expanding the dine-in area, and maximizing store

hours.

2. The researchers recommend that The Bus Bean should not limit its products to

only coffee, it could also sell milk teas and other beverages to generate additional

income and meet the preferences of the target market.

3. The researchers recommend prioritizing the sources of the ingredients and looking

for a supplier that offers good quality coffee beans but has affordable prices.

The researchers recommend analyzing customers’ satisfaction every year to enhance the

quality of both services and products of the business, as well as increase the customers’

satisfaction.

APPENDIX B – SUPPLEMENTARY DATA

Figure B2: Estimation of Electric Bill

The proponents resorted to each and every electrical device and equipment's

product specification for how much energy an appliance or equipment may require to run

in order to estimate monthly power usage. The proponents took into account the number

of hours any appliance or piece of equipment could be operated in a day when calculating

the required energy. The researchers also obtained data on how much Meralco charges

a company for every kilowatt-hour it consumes. The researchers used these data to visit

the EnergyUseCalculator website (https://energyusecalculator.com/electricity

centralac.htm) to ensure that the calculation was correct and precise. The researchers do

itemized calculations for each electrical appliance or equipment and combine the results

to calculate the projected monthly electricity cost for The Bus Bean assuming optimal

operation.
