Very good environment to learn and grow in.

Drawn to study here because of its high ranking across Canada.

Being in Vancouver city is such a real experience. So much more to see and do!

Dental Hygiene- UBC

become a dental hygienist committed to
advancing oral health and community
service.
• Dental Hygiene is a health profession
involving theory and evidence-based
practice that draw on biomedical, social,
and behavioral sciences, as well as just
the basic knowledge.
Why this program?

I have always been into the sciences and maths my Once I get this degree I can go into Dental Hygiene
whole school life and have succesfully suceeded in and work hard until I"m ready to go back to school to
these areas. complete my head Dentist schooling.

Tuition: $7,368.26 for 1 year
Residence cost: Free (living at home)
Gas for commute: $600 a month x 12 = $7,200 per year
Food costs: (parents will provide) but give myself $1,000 a year
Eyelashes: $70 per month x 12 = $840
Extra money: $1,000 a year
Gym membership: $18 per month x 12 = $216 a year
Books: $500 a year
Car Insurance: $4,000 a year
Phone bill: $130 per month x 12 = $1,560 a year
Total: $23,684.26 a year x 4 years = $94,737.04
How am I planning to pay?

• First ideally would be some sort of


scholarship, which I will be applying for.
• My parents would cover my tuition for
the first 2 years
• I also work lots and have money saved
up to use.
• I would need a student loan, which I'd
be able to pay off fairly, fast.
I've always been big on helping
people and making a difference.

Hygienist Career?

• Employment of dental hygienists was projected


to grow 20 percent from 2016 to 2026.
• This is much faster than the average for all
occupations as the demand for dental services
will increase as the population ages and as
research continues to link oral health to overall
health.
