Event Name: SKY SCRAPPERS

Abstract:
A skyscraper is a tall, continuously habitable building of many stories, usually designed for
office and commercial use. There is no official definition or height above which a building
may be classified as a skyscraper.

SkyScraper is the event of making instant structure. Participants have to make creative and
tallest structures from the given wooden blocks within the given period of time. Sky scraper
is the event in which a participant will express their intellectuality through wooden blocks.
Emphasis will be given on Earthquake Resistant Design concepts for Tall Buildings.

Details of Event Description:


Prepare tall structure with architecture view & using minimum number of blocks.
● Material: wooden blocks of size 4inch×2inch×2inch will be given to each
team (no extra materials will be provided)
● Time limit will be given on the spot.
● Area of the structure will be given on the spot.
● Explanation of Tall Building Earthquake Resistant Design concepts used in
model making will carry extra points.
● Aesthetic view will be judged based on Architectural view and extra points
will be given for the same.
● Winner will be decided as per the score (S) Which is calculated below:

Judging Criteria:

● Application of Tall Building Earthquake Resistant Design concepts will be


considered for evaluation along with other criteria. Students will have to
explain the concept followed in making Skyscraper.
● Aesthetic view as well as height of structure will also be considered for
evaluation.
● After the start of the event if the structure collapses, then no extra time will be
given.
● Participants having the tallest structure with minimum area & using minimum
number of blocks will be the winner.
● Final judgment will be governed by a panel of judges.

Rules:
● Team can comprise a maximum of 3 persons.
● Event coordinator has all the rights to change or add new rules.
● In case of any dispute the coordinators will have the final say.
● In case of any misbehavior by the participants that team will be disqualified.
● If the participants are more than expected, then they will be eliminated
through quiz.
● No extra materials should be used other than provided.

Tentative Event Participation Fees: Rs. 100/- per team
