Albi and Joel come from a small village on the island of Tanna, in the South Pacific. They say Tanna is the
happiest nation in the world because they live with love, respect and unity.
A British TV company invited them to Britain. It was their first time away from their small village. In Tanna,
people haven’t got electricity, taxes or traffic. They live in small houses and have a very calm life. They look
after animals and grow vegetables. In England they stayed in Manchester and saw homeless people in the streets.
They said: ‘There are no homeless people in Tanna. There is always a place to sleep’. They thought life in
Manchester and in London was crazy. People are always running and don’t have time to stop and talk. People
work long hours and they spend a long time cleaning their houses. In their village on Tanna, conversation and
relaxation are important. Albi and Joel went to a footfall match and danced in a disco. They enjoyed their stay in
the UK a lot.
