F1 text

Hello! My name’s Áron Bányai brother of the legend himself Nándor Bányai.
When I 1. saw the assignment formula one instantly came to my mind. The only
problem was that I couldn’t figure out who will be the driver that I’ll make it about. So first I
want to talk about the 2. most dominant f1 driver: Michael Schumacher.
Michael Schumacher had 7 championship wins 91 race wins and 93 pole positions.
( pole positions basically means that the driver gets the fastest lap on the Saturday time trial
qualifying session.) But the unfortunately I was -6 years old when he was on his prime. Also
in 2013 he had a skiing accident and he got into a long coma so I can’t even talk about his
post f1 career.
But there’s one driver who’s still kicking it on the racetrack and that is Lewis
Hamilton. I have to say that I don’t really like him but he’s so dominant in the sport so I think
that I have to talk about him. So he has 7 championships 103 race wins and pole positions and
many more amazing achievements.
At the start of his career he started in gokarts like every other f1 driver did. I watched
some gokart races that he took part of and the talent that he had at such a young age was
amazing. One of the f1 team leaders saw his talent and he went to Hamilton and Hamilton
asked him to sign his autograph book and he also asked for his number and addres. But of
course he didn’t give him his number instead he wrote this: “Find me in 9 years”.
And Hamilton did and he started testing in 2006 six and joined mclaren in 2007. He
was racing alongside the raining world champion Fernando Alonso. So that year he had an
amazing rookie season and he managed to score his first race win and consistent podiums. He
didn’t manage to take the title in 2007 but 2008 was his year. Scoring incredible 1. Place
finishes and podiums. So in 2008 he took the crown and became the youngest world champ at
the time. In 2009 there was a big regulation change (which means that the rules that apply to
the car were changed) and Ross Brown managed to buy a team for only one dollar and putting
it on the top of the leaderboards. So in 2009 Jenson Button won the championship. In 2010
Brown Gp ran out of money so they couldn’t make a champion ship winning car but Red Bull
did making Sebatian Vettel the new youngest world champion. In 2011-2013 Red Bull still
had amazing cars so Vettel managed to win all of those seasons.
In 2013 Hamilton changed teams and went to Mercedes driving alongside Nico
Rosberg son of world champion Keke Rosberg and also his old friend from karting and lower
formula series. But their relationship didn’t really turn out as planned.
Of course 2 amazing drivers at the same team is not really something that you want as
a team leader. So they had a lot of astonishing fights and some real bad crashes. The best
example that I can show is the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix where the two drivers were fighting
head to head and it pretty much ended in disaster. I want to show you a video from Rosberg
explaining how he felt at the time and after the race.
So in 2014 and 2015 Hamilton was the champion but in 2016 Rosberg managed to
snitch the title. But 1 or 2 days after taking the trophy Rosberg called Toto Wolf and left the
team.
The replacement for Rosberg was Valteri Bottas who’s not even in the driving zone of
Hamilton so he didn’t really have competition making him win from 2017-2020.
But 2021 was something from another planet. Red Bull made an amazing car again but
it wasn’t as good for beating Mercedes consistently. So there were a lot of crazy and amazing
moments between Hamilton and Verstappen who’s the driver that took the top of the podium
at the youngest age in 2016 when he was just 18 years old and he’s an amazing driver making
him worthy of stealing the title from Lewis.
So as I have told you there were a lot of controversial moments which weren’t always
about the drivers instead of the stewards but I don’t think I have enough time to talk about
that. It’s enough to say that if you ask an f1 fan about Michael Masi he wont say good things
about him. So just some examples in the British Grand Prix the two drivers were feeling
pretty racey and in the turn called corpse they were going alongside each other and an awful
crash happened were Hamilton didn’t leave the space and went into Verstappens back tire
making him spin at 230 mph which is above 300 kph and he ended up in the wall. The impact
was around 50Gs which means that if his head with the helmet is around 6 kgs his neck had to
take around 300kgs of force and I don’t think that I have to say that it wasn’t so comfortable
for Max. Verstappen got out of the car with basically nothing and he could easily recover for
the next race. In Monza again they were going alongside each other into turn 1 which is a
tight turn and again Hamilton didn’t leave the space so they ended on top of each other. And
in Jeddah Verstappen had an illegal overtake so he had to give the position back but I don’t
know what Hamilton was thinking but he ran into the back of Verstappen breaking his front
wing. So you can see why I have problems with Hamilton.
But before the last GP they were level on points so it all came down to who will be
finishing ahead of the other. Before the last lap Mick Schumacher son of Michael Schumacher
and Nicholas Latifi crashed so the safety car had to come out. So it was one last lap of racing
Hamilton vs Verstappen going head to head, bumper to bumper, front wing to front wing
around a circuit of Abu Dhabi. I just want to show you the last lap because it was amazing.
Next year there will be a big regulation change making the cars simpler and easier to race so
us f1 fans are really looking forward to the next season.
Thank you for attention and also thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about
something that I truly love.
