Regulation 30.
It is compulsory to every Food Handler (FH) to attend FHC and obtains the certificate from approved institutions appointed by MOH, Malaysia. A person who contravenes this regulation commits an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to fine not exceeding RM 10, 000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 year.
Coordinators are certified by FSQ Division. Participant number per session not exceeding 35 person. Maximum payment to the FHCC not more than RM 50 (except obtained written permission by MOH). Course duration is not less than 3 hours.
FHC Programe
Has been implemented since 1996 The courses module is uniform Courses were carried out by Food Handler Course Centre (FHCC) only FHCC and Coordinators must be certified by FSQ Division only Coordinators must go through Screening Process and Coordinators Compulsary Course
Regulation 31.
All Food Handler must attend this course once in a life time.
It is compulsory to every FH to be health checked by registered Medical Practitioner whether free from foodborne diseases. A person who contravenes this regulation commits an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to fine not exceeding RM 10, 000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 year.
Enforcement date on 1 Mac 2010 Food Hygiene Regulation 2009 can be obtained from website
The Food Handler must re-attend the course if: 1. Food Poisoning occurred. 2. Unsanitary premise.
