I just paid quite a bit for the MAF connector from VW.....1k0971337 which
Posts: 30
costed me $140 AUD

Anyways........this connector comes with the 3 wires on pin 1 -3. The

colours in order from pin 1 are white/yellow, green/yellow, black

Looking at the vw diagrams they all shows 4 wires with none matching
these colours

Further to this when I look at pics on pelican parts site, the mk5 gti has
colours yellow(cant see another colour with it), brown(I think with grey),
black and blue

Looking at a photo of a friend's gti her golf had black and white on pin 3
and br on pin 2 and yellow on 1

Can anyone maybe help me figure this out so I can get the 3 wires
connected to the correct locations on ECU etc?

I think 1 is voltage, 1 earth, and then 1 to ECU?

Great thanks. Any way you can trace them to pins on the ECU?
Mine will be connected to a BWA engine and ECU but cant think
that the
pin location will be different on the ECU.

I couldn't even find
a wiring diagram last night. You can give this a search

Lol.

for the link, it looks like 2 is ground and 3 is 12v (15A feed) and
Thanks
then 1 should be signal to ECU.

For pin 1 it states:

ECM) J623 electrical harness connector T94 terminal 22.

Maybe someone can confirm this is the same for the BWA engine?

On golfgtiforum.co.uk it says:

BPY is the North American variant [with different emissions gubbins] of

the European AAX or BWA variants

So I assume the it will be the same.

Thank You
I would also assume they are similar electrically. There are a few
-Given: 112
mechanical differences, but not likely with where the MAF connects.

Have you got VCDS or OBD11?  Do you get a reading on the MAF

VCDS. Im swapping my BLX cylinderhead with obe from a BWA in July

where I will replace manifolds, wiring and ECU.

as the wirjng is not part
Will only know then when I try to wire in the MAF
of the engine wiring harness going to injectors, turbo etc.
BLX doesnt have MAF only temp sensor on airbox so this is
why this
thread started.
