1. Night blindness
2. Cornea
3. Lateral
4. 2m
5. Less

SECTION B

Ans 1. The image of her fingers appears blurred because the lens in the eyes cannot set a
proper focus on fingers which disturbs the image formation on retina .

Ans 2. Large pupil and large cornea allow more light to enter in their eyes and they can see
objects even in very dim light. And it also helps them to increase their field of vision and
help them to collect more light during night.

Ans 4.

We are not able to see our surroundings clearly because when we are outside our pupils
become smaller because there is more amount of light. And when we come in Cinema Hall
there is darken so our pupils become bigger and managed to enter sufficient amount of
light, it take some time to adjust pupil.

Ans 5.

(ii) Regular reflection
B) (i) Rough surface
(ii) Smooth surface
C) (i) wood, cardboard
(ii) Plane mirror, thin sheet of aluminum

c) 90

Ans 3.

a) α= 26
b) β= 26

Ans 4.

a) Try to blink to allow your tears to wash it out. Do not rub your eye. If the particle is
behind your upper eyelid, pull the upper lid out and over the lower lid and roll your
eye upward. This can help get the particle come off the upper lid and flush out of the
eye.
b) Due to the large size of these objects, your eyes may itch or sting more. Rubbing
your eyes may push these objects deeper in your eyes and may cause small
scratches in the eye. That's why it's advised to not rub your eyes if there's an eye
irritation due to foreign particles.

5. RETINA

Ans 6.

The bird appears to be in the cage because the image does not vanish immediately from retina. It
persists there for about 1/16th of a second. So, if still images of a moving object are flashed on the
eye at a rate faster than 16 per second, then the eye perceives this object as moving.

SECTION D

Ans 1.

a) Cataract
b) Doctors remove the opaque lens and insert new artificial lens.

Ans 2.

a) The word ambulance is written reverse because inverse AMBULANCE is viewed

through the rear-view mirror, which is a convex mirror also known as a diverging
mirror that provides a large-scale view of the field of the vehicle so that the driver
could comfortably get to know about the ambulance and provide a way to it.
b) By using plane mirror
c) Lateral inversion
d) I and O

Ans 3

When a ray of light is incident normally on a plane mirror it means that the angle of
incidence is 0ₒ. From the law of reflection, we find that angle of reflection is also 0ₒ.Thus,
for normal incidence on a plane mirror, angle of incidence and angle of reflection are 0ₒ.
