INT. MIND - BLACK
Multiple words flashing on the screen, all negative thoughts,
a very prevalent CLOCK TICKING sound effect winding up.

INT. MESSY BEDROOM - MORNING

Eyes opening suddenly, MARIN awakes from a dreadful sleep and
curls up in bed.
MARIN
(sighing heavily and
grabbing a pillow)
I don't wanna go to work today.
FADE TO: BLACK TITLE CARD

EXT. OUTSIDE BALCONY OVERLOOKING BUSY STREET

MARIN looking over balcony edge as loud STREET NOISES in
background. She overlooks the entire city as her apartment is
on the top of a hill. MARIN's phone buzzes/rings, it is a
call from someone named LANCER
LANCER
Did you find the target yet? CLAUS
is asking through my behalf.
MARIN
No, not yet, also tell CLAUS that
he needs to lay off of my work.
This guy is way off the grid in
every way. So tell him that I'm
working on it, but just to give me
time, work like this doesn't
complete itself.
LANCER
I see, I'll tell him that, now get
ready, you're going to ground zero
today.
MARIN hangs up the phone and sits on the side of her bed, she
looks rather annoyed about the call.
MARIN
I guess I'll get ready to get going
now.
FADE TO: BLACK

EXT. CITY STREETS

MARIN walking through the busy city streets and rows of
people. She begins to walk towards a more run down and
destroyed part of the city. A fence blocks it with a sign
that states DO NOT ENTER, MARIN hops over the fence
regardless. As she walks, the surrounding area begins to
degrade more and more. We then see LANCER waiting there for
her with an off-road bike.

EXT. GROUND ZERO

LANCER
(Laughing)
I was wondering when you were gonna
show up, come on we don't have much
time.
MARIN
Yeah yeah, save it for later
LANCER. Now tell me, why did CLAUS
want me to come to Ground Zero
again, I may have been here during
the Cataclysm, but I had nothing to
do with it.
LANCER
Boss just wants you to look for
anything connecting up to our guy.
MARIN
(scoffs)
Whatever, now lets go.
The two on the bike ride past many collapsed and/or degraded
buildings until they reach a large crater. Around the crater
is a security checkpoint and large fence with signs all over
it that say NORMAN LABS. The two get off the bike just before
the security checkpoint.
SECURITY GUARD
Welcome to Ground Zero, may I see
some ID please.
The two pull out their ID cards that have a strange seal on
them.
SECURITY GUARD (CONT'D)
Thank you

INT. DECONTAMINATION ZONE

As the walk through the decontamination zone, we enter into
the ruins of an old, falling apart,

INT. DETERIORATED LAB

MARIN
Wow, this place *really* has not
aged well, It's a wonder how it's
still in such great condition. I
really wonder how they thought it
was a good idea to try and create a
superhero. I should not have
survived that day, the only reason
I did is because I was in the
underground level. Blast proof
doors work too well sometimes.
LANCER
Well, you can think about the past
all you want, but what really
matters to us right now is the guy
behind it. He's been at least 2
steps ahead of us for the longest
time, but right now we can get the
leg up on him. He has no official
record in the system right now
because he is supposed to be dead.
That of course, is not the case
considering that we've seen him on
multiple security system.
MARIN
It really is a wonder to my why
they trusted someone like him, I
mean the man was psychotic, he
killed plenty of people, but paid
his way to freedom.
They look around the labs for a bit to find evidence, but
find nothing. Eventually, they find a train ticket on the
floor under an alias.
MARIN (CONT'D)
This is one of the alias he chose
to go by, I remember it very well.
And the ticket is from last week.
Lets go ask the guards.
FADE TO: BLACK "TO BE CONTINUED"
