Blooming Pinwheel

Materials used

- cotton 4ply (Drops Safran)

- 3 mm hook

Used Stitches / Abbreviations

Ch – chain

Sc – single crochet

Hdc – half-double crochet

Dc – double crochet

Fpsc – front post single crochet. Insert the hook from front to back to front around
the indicated stitch and work a sc.

V-St – v stitch. 1 dc, ch2, 1 dc worked in same stitch.

Dc4tog – *Yarn over, insert hook into the indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a
loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops.** Repeat from *to ** three more times.
Yarn over draw through all 5 loops on the hook.

Sl st – slip stitch

Flo – front loop

Blo – back loop

Sp – space

Pattern (written in US terms)

Round 1: (colour A) work 6 sc in a magic ring. Sl st to the first sc. Do not close
the ring too tight cause you will work the next round in it. (6 sc)

Round 2: (colour A) Ch1, In the ring work 12 hdc over the 6 sc. Sl st to the first
hdc and close the ring. (12 hdc)

Round 3: (colour A) This round is worked in flo only. Ch1, sc in same stitch. Sc
in all other stitches. Sl st to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave in ends. (12 sc)

Round 4: (colour B) This round is worked in blo of hdc stitches, from round 2.
Start with a standing sc in any stitch. *Work 2 sc in next stitch, 1 sc in next stitch.**
Repeat from * to ** omitting the last sc. Sl st to the first sc. (18 sc)

Round 5: (colour B) Ch 5 (this counts as your first dc and a ch2), 1 dc in same

stitch. This is your first V-St. *Skip one stitch and work a V-St in next stitch.**
Repeat from * to **. Sl st to the 3rd chain of the ch5. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
(9 V-St)

Round 6: (colour C) Start with a standing sc in any sp after a V-St. *Ch3, dc4tog
in the next V stitch ch2 sp, ch3, sc in the sp between V stitches.** Repeat from *
to ** omitting the last sc. Sl st to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave in ends. (9
dc4tog, 9 sc, 18 ch3)

Round 7 – (colour D) Start with a standing fpsc around any dc4tog. *Sl st to the
next ch3 from previous round, ch3 (it will count as your first dc from a dc group),
5 dc. Skip the sc from previous round. Sl st to the next ch3 space, fpsc around
next dc4tog.** Repeat from * to ** omitting the last fpsc. Sl st to the first fpsc. (9
fpsc, 18 sl st, 9 ch3, 45 dc)
