Acknowledgments
Obviously this book is not based solely on my
personal experiences. It is to a certain extent a
reflection of the combined experiences of several
thousand patients who have entrusted me with the
responsibility of treating their emotional difficulties.
With this in mind I have taken elaborate precautions
to preserve their anonymity in every sense of the
word.

DEDICATION
CHAPTER ONE
Beyond The Birds And
Bees
CHAPTER TWO
Male Sexual Organs
CHAPTER THREE
Female Sexual Organs
Is that true?
Important?
How come?
Why not?
How come?
CHAPTER FOUR
Sexual Intercourse
What's that?
Obtaining the maximum enjoyment from sexual
intercourse requires knowledge. Our modern society is
careful to teach people how to run their automobiles
but deliberately avoids teaching them how to run their
sexual organs. What passes for sex education is like
the old French joke:
What is that?
CHAPTER FIVE
Aphrodisiacs
CHAPTER SIX
Impotence
What is impotence?
What's that?
How's that?
CHAPTER SEVEN
Frigidity
What is frigidity?
Frigidity is the word used to describe impaired
sexual feeling in women. It covers the entire range of
substandard sexual response from total avoidance of
sexual contact to an occasional missed orgasm. The
word frigidity is a misleading one and was probably
coined by a man.

"Well he's read all the books too and he feels just
terrible. He really thinks there's something wrong with
him if he can't satisfy me. If he has a climax before I
do--- that's ninety-nine percent of the time--- he gets
all depressed. Sometimes he can't even go to sleep
afterward." Ellen managed a wan smile. "I tell him it's
not important--- just to go right ahead without me.
I've given up long ago."
What's dyspareunia?
How is that?
How it is done?
What's that?
CHAPTER EIGHT
Male Homosexuality
The basic idea stems from the fact that men and
women have the sex hormones of both sexes
circulating in their bloodstreams simultaneously.
According to the hormone theory, if the female
hormone dominates in the male, effeminate
characteristics and homosexuality emerge. When
tested experimentally the idea falls apart.
What's that?
An artificial vagina?
Is that unusual?
CHAPTER NINE
Masturbation
What is masturbation?
What's a dildoe?
What's a ben-wa?
The blind?
CHAPTER TEN
Sexual Perversion
Why not?
How is that?
Like what?
What's that?
"I watched this girl take off her stuff about eleven
o'clock one night and the next month when I came by
she was doing it again. Just for fun I broke a rule and
came again the next night--- there she was! Now I go
past her place every Tuesday. She has a new outfit
every week and puts on a good show. But, you know
how it is, I have the whole town to pick from and I get
tired of seeing the same thing over and over again."
What is a fetish?
How is that?
VICTIM: Hello?
OBSCENE CALLER: (heavy breathing).
V: Who is this? Who's calling?
O.C.: That doesn't matter. How would you like to
get laid?
V.: (Screams) You must be out of your mind!
O.C.: No, I'm not. I'm just going to come over
and get into you.
V.: (Screaming) Leave me alone! What do you
want? What do you want?
O.C.: All I want is to get my hands in your
pants--- that's all! (Heavy breathing)
V.: (Hysterical) My God! My God! (Hangs up).
VICTIM: Hello?
OBSCENE CALLER: Listen, do you know what I'm
going to do to you?
V.: Now you listen to me. You're sick! You need a
psychiatrist! If you take my advice....
O.C.: (Hangs up.)
Why sadist/masochist?
In What Way?
How come?
Why is that?
CHAPTER ELEVEN
Prostitution
How come?
"I love to see them beg for it. They act just like
babies, pleading for a B.J. or whatever they have to
have. I get a kick out of taking their money. Twenty
bucks for fifteen minutes work--- I never had it so
good!"
Why is that?
How is that?
How is that?
How come?
What's an exhibition?
CHAPTER TWELVE
Birth Control
What is Birth Control?
Why is that?
How is that?
Does it work?
Fickle?
What is abortion?
"He went into all those silly old laws--- I'm sure
they weren't made for people like us. He told me if I
said I had vaginal bleeding and didn't tell anyone I
had missed my period they'd have to do a D and C to
find out what was causing it. By the time they found
out they were wrong, I wouldn't be pregnant any
more. He said they would need two other doctors to
approve the operation and that it would be a little
expensive. After all, what's money for?"
Pretty easily?
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Venereal Disease
Why not?
Because she has been castrated by Father Time is
no reason for a modern woman to give up the battle.
She has many weapons at her disposal, if she will only
use them. If she is determined and if her doctor is
skillful, they can virtually turn back the clock.
Did it work?
What's that?
Why tragically?
Why is that?
"I was reacting to Mel the same way I had for the
past thirty years--- I didn't realize that things were
changing. I needed to put a little more effort into the
sexual side of things than I had been. Well, it really
worked. First I tried to find out what stimulated him
the most. It was a lot of little things. Touching his
penis was one thing--- I guess I had thought it wasn't
nice all those years, but anything that helped Mel now
was nice enough for me. Changing positions made it
more exciting for him too. The most important thing
was always letting him know I wanted him sexually.
That seemed to help most of all."
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
September Sex
How is that?
Why is it so important?
How is that?
