Youth Before COVID-19

A. Initial Summary of what will be talked about this episode (e.g.

were like PRIOR to COVID-19.”)

II. Episode 4 Introduction (10 minutes)


A. What was life like before COVID?
B. When we speak of “life” super lawak, so what about “life” will
you be discussing?
C. When we say “life” we speak of “youth” but why? Are the
youth more affected by the outbreak than others? If yes, why?
a. In a literal sense (“youth”), children and youth are
especially vulnerable to the greater societal shifts being
witnessed as a result of the virus (e.g., remote learning
makes access to education more challenging; domestic
violence)
b. Metaphorical sense (“youth”), mental health problems
(e.g. lack of motivation; lack of joy; no more night life..
etc.)  dito tayo mas magfofocus, so you have to mention
the same.

III. Mental Health Problems (7 mins)


A. Statistics (data gathered from UNICEF page

a. 27% feel anxiety & 17% feel depression
b. 1 in 2 people feel less motivated to do activities they
normally enjoy

c. Despite feeling the need to do so, 2 out of 5 people did
not ask for help on their mental well-being.

A. Most countries developed new mental health information
and/or phone support lines giving tips on coping measures
during the COVID-19 crisis, while many countries also
increased entitlement to mental health services, and/or mental
health funding
B. Many OECD countries swiftly put in place measures to protect
jobs and incomes, and aid the transition to working from home.
