Ilocano trait for hiya or amor propio (sense of shame). Ilocanos
fear of gossip and would strongly avoid being envied by others. It

“Ammungan” Festival. The term Ammungan stands for gathering.
In the spirit of thanksgiving, the festival highlights the gathering of
Traditions & the upland indigenous peoples groups and lowland dwellers to
Cultures what is known as the Tribu Bisjkayano. Nueva Vizcaya
commemorates its founding anniversary every May 24 with a
week-long series of activities
Honoring the bountiful harvest of the province and its emerging
agro- industrial prowess, Isabela celebrates the Bambanti
(Scarecrow) Festival. The festivity showcases the scarecrow
dancing spectacles and agricultural booths.

 People in the valley dressed very simply. Old women used the
saya and kimono while men used the camisa de chino or the
barong tagalog. Some of the houses that withstood the Japanese
occupation were historical houses made of hard wood. Some were
bahay-kubo. Most typical homes were strong and typhoon-
resistant.
