16. Check the fluid level in the brake and clutch fluid reservoir. The level should be between the two
seams of the reservoir .

17. Check the steering hand wheel for play and vertical looseness. Normal play is 1 to 2 inches, and
vertical looseness is not permitted.

18. Check the condition of exhaust gas after the engine warm-up is finished. The exhaust gas is normal
when it is white or bluish.

19. The hydraulic oil level, should be done with engine shutdown, forks on the ground or floor and the
ground and the truck itself on a level surface.

20. Check the tension and abnormality of the lift chains. Raise the fork about 10 cm. above the ground,
and push the middle of chain with the thumb. Make certain the tension for the right and left chains are
even.

21. Check the water of the radiator by removing the pressure cap. It is good practice to use a thick waste
cloth.

22. Check the belts for correct tension and damage. Push the belt at midway water pump pulley and
alternator pulley by 10 kg. The deflection of the belts should be 20 to 50 mm.

23. Low air pressure reduces tire service life and increases fuel consumption.
24. Operators should face the direction he is travelling, but when the load of forklift obstructs the vision
of the operators, drive in reverse.

35. Check only the electrolyte level in the battery if the lights or horn is not working. The level should be
between the upper and lower level marks of electrolyte level of typical battery.

36. Unevenness of air pressure between right and left tires or unevenly worn or damaged tires will cause
uneven steering forces.

37. Lift trucks use the rear wheels for steering.

38. Keep your feet inside the running line of truck

39. Slow down at cross aisle and exits and do not use your horn.
