● All foundational hand
movements and
footwork of Kathak for future practise as well ● The ability to do nritta (pure dance)
compositions in all three speeds of Kathak ● Detailed practice and exploration of
footwork and Chakkars (spins) in Kathak ● Working on their body balance, posture,
diction (through the syllables of Kathak ) ● Developing an improved sense of rhythm
and beat
What is the importance of this course?

improves their performance in other subjects/areas of life.

college, offices, and other social spaces.

The course aims to provide a step-by-step foundational guide to anyone who has been wanting to
learn Kathak, but does not know how and where to start. The course breaks down the
fundamentals of Kathak in an easy, accessible and friendly way, making the children connect
