Abstract
The Novel Corona Virus also referred to as severe acute respiratory syndrome
Corona Virus-2 (SARS COV-2) comes a severe respiratory disease known as
Corona Virus disease (COVID-19).
This qualitative research was conducted to understand the knowledge and practices
about the COVID-19. It covered to address the following objectives: (1) To
understand the knowledge of the LGU’s in Tabuk City Hall concerning COVID-19;
and (2) To discover the practices of the LGU’s in Tabuk City Hall during COVID-19
pandemic.
It involved a total number of ten (10) LGU’s of Tabuk City Hall as participants to this
study. It made us of phenomenology as a qualitative research design. The gathered
data through structured interview was analyzed using narrative analysis approach.
The results of this study generated three global themes pertaining to each research
question: (1) Shared knowledge in the origin, symptoms and preventions of the
COVID-19 virus; and (2) Shared practices on how to prevent the spread of the
COVID-19 virus.
The emerging themes generally led the researchers to conclude that: (1) The LGU’s
in Tabuk City are well-informed about the the origin, symptoms and preventions of
the COVID- 19 virus and are responsible in following the minimum health protocol;
and (2) The LGU’s can have both personal and economic benefits virus.
Based on the findings of this study, following recommendations are as provided: (1)
LGU’s should share their knowledge to other people on how to prevent the spread of
COVID-19.; and (2) LGU’s should maintain their good practices toward COVID-19
and keep following the minimum health protocols.
