After our classes in the OB Ward and Delivery Room, I have enhanced my
knowledge, attitude, and skills in the care of clients.

Knowledge:
1. Learned how to perform nursing assessments and physical examinations on
patients while incorporating ethical, social, and diverse perspectives to provide
holistic care.
2. Learned the normal and abnormal physiologic changes during pregnancy.
3. Learned how to apply knowledge of intrapartum and postpartum care in clinical
situations.
4. Learned how to perform gynecological procedures using integrated knowledge of
perioperative care.
5. Learned how to present a concise history in written form.
Skills:
1. Learned how to observe sterility and asepsis during procedures.
2. Learned how to assess maternal and fetal well-being.
3. Learned how to perform timely cleaning and dressing of the postoperative
wound.
4. Learned how to chart nurses’ progress notes and Kardex.
5. Improved knowledge in the delivery of routine cases through all stages of
pregnancy.
Attitude:
1. Learned how to be competent in patient assessment and assigning priorities to
new problems presented.
2. Used the concepts of evidence-based nursing to guide patient care.
3. Learned how to recognize personal biases and ensure that they do not interfere
with patient care.
4. Learned how to demonstrate trustworthiness in assessment.
