2. Describe your first impressions of the students and what their particular needs will be
My first impression of the class is that the students were really quiet and quick to transition to the
different tasks in class. There was one student who have autism spectrum. They need assisting
and helping them to get started on tasks in class. There were some students who needed help
with transiting through the different tasks. Students sit quietly at their desks working on their

5. What are some of your initial fears and concerns about this practicum?
I am concerned that I won’t be able to meet the needs of each individual student due to my lack
of interaction with students and knowledge. I have experienced volunteering with younger
children before as a reading buddy for kindergarteners when I was in fifth grade and with first
graders when I was in seventh grade at Vestal. The memories of my volunteer experience during
that time are very vague. I have few memories of the experience.
