LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 10

SY 2020-2021
July 30, 2021

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
1. Define triangle as a polygon.
2. Identify the classification of triangles according to their sides.
3. Identify the classification of triangles according to their angles.
4. Appreciate and develop awareness of its use in our daily life.

II. CONTENT
A. Topic : Classification of triangles
B. Concept : A Triangle is a polygon with three sides.

Classification of triangles according to their sides.

Equilateral triangle Isosceles triangle Scalene triangle

-Three sides are congruent -Two sides are congruent -Have no congruent sides.

Classification of triangles according to their angles.

Acute triangle Obtuse triangle Right triangle Equiangular triangle

-All angles are acute -One angle is obtuse -One angle is right -All angles are congruent
angle

III. PROCEDURE
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY TEACHER’S NOTE

A. Pre-Activity
I. Prayer A student leads a prayer.

II. Checking of
Attendance “There is no absent today sir” No absent for today
“Who is/are absent
today?”
“Sir, our lesson yesterday was Student shall have
III. Review all about polygon” extra point for
“Before we start our participation in the
new lesson, what was meeting.
the lesson yesterday?”
“Polygon is a closed figure
“Very good, can you formed by connecting three or
please review us the more segments at their
definition of polygon?” endpoints”
“That’s right!”
IV. Motivation
”Before we proceed to
our lesson let us have
first a group activity.
“Okay sir”
We will divide the
class into five groups.
Each group will make
a collage of any animal
using the cut-out
triangles”.

“So class, please group

yourselves into five
groups”
“I think the groupings
are all settled” “None sir”

“Any questions about

“Yes sir”
the activity?”

“So shall we start the

activity?”

“Since there is no
question, let’s start the “Yes sir”
activity”

“Are you done class?”

“Okay sir”
“Very good”
“Yes sir”
“Kindly post your
activity on the board”

“Did you have fun Student’s perspective and

doing the activity?” observation.

“What can you say

about the different cut-
out triangles in terms
Student’s perspective and
of its sides and angles?
observation.
“That’s right”

“What else?”

B. Activity Proper

Activity 1:

Possible
Question
Answer
1. A right triangle can be an isosceles triangle. True
2. A triangle is an isosceles if the three sides of a triangle measure 8cm, 9cm and False
10cm.
3. If the three angles of a triangle measure 60˚ each, the triangle is an acute False
triangle.
4. All angles of a scalene triangle are acute angles. False
5. All angles of isosceles triangle are acute angles. False

C. Analysis
1. How was the activity? Student’s Perception
2. Do you find the activity difficult? Why? Student’s Perception
3. So from the activity above, can you guess Classification of triangles
the lesson for today?

D. Abstraction
1. Equilateral triangle
1. What are the kinds of triangles 2. Isosceles triangle
according to their sides? What are 3. Scalene triangle
