1. Focus issue

Today 11 April 2022, I encountered a problem where my students were not able to
concentrate or seem uninterested during lessons.

2. Analysis of focus issue:

This issue normally happens due to a lot of reasons and it is a common problem. For
my students, I think they were not attracted to the activities that I conducted in class.
The activities I have conducted were meant to be a better understanding tool however i
might have made the students uninterested unintentionally.

3. Literature Review on the issue:

Past studies have shown that in producing, planning and implementing effective
teaching and learning, teachers need to focus on the class they are teaching
specifically. For a better plan and to be prepared teachers can re -discuss their teaching
with other teachers or responsible parties and Make self -assessments to redesign their
teaching based on the comments and remarks given. With this, a better lesson plan can
be implemented.

4. Suggestion for Follow-up Action

Based on the analysis I have done on the issues that have been identified, I suggest
several alternative solutions to the problem which are as below :
a) Carry out group activities so that students have fun performing activities in the
classroom so that students are able to respond, provide opinions and ideas,
provide views and suggestions for activities which they often do in groups. Dr
Ismail Zain (Utusan Malaysia, 2001) stated, performance is demonstrated
through communication skills can prove the level of thinking, self -confidence,
and the level of commitment can be assessed more precisely.

b) Teachers should always be available to guide and support students so that they
can learn independently. According to Ahmad Atroy (1986), a manager or leader
should have the variability and range of skills necessary to change his own
behavior. This means, teachers need to be creative in control and enliven the
learning environment so that students feel fun and confident in performing
learning activities.

c) Do more of the activities that the students feel happy participate and helps them
to learn

5. Time Duration for Solution

1 week.

6. Follow-up Action

I made improvements by diversifying the activities which are fun. It was found that the
students were very fond of play activities and competitions such as quizzes, simulations
and so on. Teaching aids that are interesting also needs to be multiplied. During
teaching in the classroom, I chose to teach in a relaxed manner so that students do not
feel awkward or afraid to answer my questions. I ask students to re -explain or answer
my questions with guidance and encouragement.

7. Date that conducts Follow-Up Action

24.04. 2022 - 28.04.2022

8. Efficiency of Suggested Solutions

The improvements that i have implemented shows a good and a positive impact and
needs to be sustained. I can realise where the students are showing a positive
response and are more engaging. During the activities, I encourage students to get
involved and it is ok to be wrong as long as they try first. Overall, teaching and learning
goes with smoothly.

9. Conclusion/ Reflection

Overall, it can be concluded that the students have shown change to their behavior
during lessons from uninterested to be more engaging. This means that the students
now more focused in class and can participate better in lessons.
