SOC 131

1. As a student like Jose Rizal, what are the usual things that you do?
As a student at school almost everyone is supposed to study. But every student is
different and I was surely different in my own way. I go to school for getting knowledge and to
be in discipline, I hate being competitive student that’s why I always co-operate with others, I’ve
become a ROTC Officer in our school and I learned many things like how to be a good leader,
how to respect for elders and others and to be punctual. Even though I am not as smart as Rizal,
I also have the knowledge and desire in life to be a military to serve the people and secure the
land.

2. What is “CARROMATA” and how does it looks like?


It was a primary mode of public and private transportation during the colonial era of the
Philippines, though in modern times, they largely only survive as tourist attractions. The
CARROMATA looks like a two-wheeled inclined cart, and is drawn by a single horse. It is made
from wood, metal, or a combination of both. Traditionally it had a single forward-facing bench
that can accommodate two passengers.

3. Aside from academic responsibilities of Jose Rizal, what are his extracurricular activities?
Jose Rizal has extracurricular activities aside from his academic responsibilities. He
became an emperor inside their classroom, campus leader outside, a secretary of Marian
Congregation of a religious society. He is also became a member of the academy of the Spanish
literature and a member of the academy of natural science. He is also studied painting and
sculpture.

4. What do you think why Jose Rizal chooses Ateneo de Manila as his Tertiary school?
Because his heart is belong to the Ateneo de Manila, and it only offer medicine courses
and this school are more advance learning than the other schools. And I think Jose Rizal chooses
Ateneo because he wants to dared to break the walls built by Spanish colonizers around Filipino
minds to conquer them into servitude.

5. What happens to the first romance of Jose Rizal to Segunda Katigbak?


In Rizal’s first romance was indeed a love at first sight in Segunda Katigbak, a 14 years
old Batanguena from lipa. But he was hopeless because Segunda Katigbak was already engaged
to Manuel Luz, her town mate, this was Rizal’s first discouragement in love because she
returned to Lipa and married to Manuel Luz.

1. As emergency responder, what will be the first aid management for closed wound?
In closed wounds, the main goal of treatment is to control the pain, and keep the
bleeding and inflammation to a minimum. This is done by using ice packs, compression,
elevation and immobilization of the affected limb or area. Applying cold also can be effective in
helping to control both pain and swelling. Fill a plastic bag with ice and water or wrap ice in a
wet cloth and apply it to the injured area for periods of about 20 minutes.

2. Differentiate the closed wound and open wound.


In a closed wound, tissue damage and bleeding occur under the surface of the skin.
Examples of closed wounds include blunt object result in contusion or bruises. An open wound
involves a break in the skin that leaves the internal tissue exposed. Example of open wounds
includes abrasion, puncture, laceration, and avulsion.

3. Which do you think is the most painful classification of burn, and why?
Second-degree burn are most painful because your skin will be bright red, swollen, and
may look shiny and wet. You will see blisters, and the burn will hurt to the touch. It may leave a
scar or cause a permanent change in the color of your skin.

4. In poisoning, what are the causes why people are get poisoned?
For me, it because they eat something that can’t be eat or food that may have been old,
improperly prepared, contaminated, left at room temperature for a long time, or processed with
an excessive amount of chemicals. People are get poisoned, usually swallowed, but they can
also be inhaled, splashed onto the skin or eyes, injected or received through a bite of poisonous
animals.

5. Scenario: What are you going to do if a victim swallowed a WATUSI?


If swallowed, the victim may be given 6-8 raw egg whites (8-12 raw egg whites for adults) and
then bring the victim immediately to the nearest hospital.
