Preface
The following explanations serve to familiarise the machinist (operator) with the roller and to
support him during handling and maintenance. It is therefore absolutely necessary to provide
the operator with these instructions and to ensure that he reads them carefully before using
the road roller. This aids training comprehension during the first use of the road roller.
Subsequent faults due to improper operating are thus avoided.
Adherence to maintenance instructions increases reliability and the lifetime of the machinery.
It reduces repair costs and down time.
AMMANN accepts no liability for continued safe functioning of the road roller if it is incorrectly
operated and / or operating modes are employed which represent improper use.
Spare parts must meet AMMANN technical specifications. This requirement is fulfilled if only
original AMMANN spare parts are used.
These instructions must always be kept available on the vehicle.

Safety decals, noise levels
Noise levels
The following listed noise level measurements were carried out in accordance with the CE
machine directive 93/68/EEC.
Measurement conditions:
• Engine running at rated speed.
• Microphone fixed on a tripod 1.20 m above ground.
• Firm, snow-free and dry ground, no sound reflecting objects within a 20 m radius.
• The ambient sound level and the wind noise level must be 10 dB(A) below the measured
noise level.
• Noise emission in accordance with Appendix 1, Section 1.7.4 f of the CE machine
directive.

Operating lever keys
Yellow keys
With these two keys the travel speed pre-selection is increased or decreased.
The maximum travel speed can be altered between 2.0 km/h and 10.0 km/h in
increments of 0.5 km/h.
Individual (short) activation of a key respectively increases or reduces the speed
in 0.5 km/h increments.
Individual (continuous) activation of a key respectively increases or reduces the
speed in between 2.0 km/h and 10.0 km/h steplessly.
When one of these two keys is adjusted the selected travel speed is shown on
the instrument panel display
With these two keys the cabin is traversed to the left or the right.
The cabin continues to traverse left or right as long as a key is pressed.
With this key the continuous sprinkling is switched on (front/rear). The sprinkler
continues to operate as long as the key is pressed.
With this key the rear roller drum is electrically adjusted to the left. The roller
drum continues to move as long as the key is pressed.
The electrical adjustment of the roller drum is only active when the electrical
steering is available (yellow key near the steering wheel).
With this key the roller drum is set back to the zero position.
With this key the rear roller drum is electrically adjusted to the right. The roller
drum continues to move as long as the key is pressed.
The electrical adjustment of the roller drum is only active when the electrical
steering is available (yellow key near the steering wheel).

ATTENTION
This operating mode should be selected when it actually needs to be applied.
Because the roller wheels are offset the operator must pay increased attention.

Anti-adhesive
Anti-adhesive sprinkler
1
The anti-adhesive pump is switched on/off with
key (1) in the drive panel (key function).
Depending on how the roller is equipped (front
or rear pneumatic types), the front or rear anti-
adhesive pump is switched on.
e INDICATION
Anti-adhesive is a water solvable specialised liquid for asphalt compaction rollers. The anti-
adhesive ensures an effective separation between the rollers/pneumatic surfaces and the
bitumen course.
Advantages of anti-adhesive:
• No tearing of the course thanks to the special separating effect.
• Extremely low anti-adhesive consumption.
• The course can be worked at higher temperatures.
• Lower shocking to the course due to lower water consumption.
• Anti-adhesive does not attack the pneumatic tyre rubber.
• Penetration of superfluous anti-adhesive has no subsequent negative effects.
• The anti-adhesive is biodegradable.

Important notes
ATTENTION
Disconnect the battery before commencing
welding on the roller. Otherwise electronic
control components may be damaged!
CAUTION
If hydraulic hoses need replacing on rollers using synthetic ester oil
hoses, only those with a supplier’s synthetic ester conformity
declaration may be used.
ATTENTION
