LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET

ORGANIZING DATA IN TABULAR FORM AND PRESENTS

THEM IN A SINGLE/DOUBLE HORIZONTAL OR VERTIVAL
BAR GRAPH

Background Information for Learners

This lesson will teach you how to organize data in tabular form and how to
presents in a single/ double horizontal or vertical bar graph.
There are things to be remembered in organizing data in tabular
form and how to presents in single/ double horizontal or vertical graph.
➢ Data is a collection of gathered information.
➢ Organize data can be presented in a bar graph.
➢ A bar graph shows numerical information using vertical and horizontal bars.
➢ A single/ double horizontal bars graph includes: two axes, the horizontal
axis and the vertical axis with labels, title and scale. The vertical axis is the
group data while the horizontal axis is the frequency data
➢ A single/double vertical bar graph also has two axes, the horizontal axis and
the vertical axis with labels, title, and scale. The horizontal axis is the group
data while the vertical axis is the frequency data. Both bar graphs compare
the data from different groups or periods.
➢ A single and double bar graph includes: 2 axes with labels, title and scale.
➢ A double bar graphs help us to compare or present more than one kind of
information. It can be horizontal or vertical

How to organize a single/ double vertical (or horizontal) bar graphs?

➢ Draw the vertical and horizontal axes
➢ Label the horizontal and the vertical axes with appropriate names for the
information.
➢ Find the greatest number in the data
➢ Make a scale from 0 to the greatest number.
➢ Draw the single/double vertical (or horizontal bars ) to represent each data.
➢ Make the bars of the same width.
➢ Look for the legend. Make the frequency accurate.
➢ Write the title for the graph

1. What is the title of the double vertical bar graph? (Our favorite sports)
2. In the vertical bar graph, what information is placed along the horizontal
axis? (Different Sports)
3. How many students like softball? (4)
4. What is the favorite sport of most students? (Soccer)
5. What sport is the second choice? (Basketball)
6. What is the title of the single horizontal bar? (Favorite Snacks)
7. In the single horizontal bar graph, what information is placed along the
horizontal axis?
(Number of votes) on the vertical axis? (Snacks)
8. What is the least favorite snack of the voters? (crackers)

Learning Competency
Organizes data in tabular form and presents them in a single/ double
horizontal or vertical bar graph (M4SP-IVg-2.4) (Q4 W5)

Directions and Instructions

Exercise 1
Organize the data below about the number of books read by the Grade
4 pupils during the year by using single vertical or horizontal bar graph.
Find the greatest number in the data. Make a scale from 0 to 20. Label the
vertical and vertical axes.
Draw a bar to represent each data. Write a title for the graph.

Name Number of Books Read

Ezra 20
Gian 18
Christian 15
Prince 17
Princes 20
Gilbert 13

Exercise 2
Create a double vertical or horizontal bar graph with the given data below.
Favorite Vegetables
Vegetables Boys Girls
Ampalaya 4 8
Carrots 6 9
Squash 10 12
Beans 14 15
Malunggay 15 18

Exercise 3
Organize your grades in different learning areas for the 3rd and 4th
quarters in the school year 2019-2020 in a tabular form and presents them in
a double vertical or horizontal bar graph Reflection
