The Admission to attend the selection test for Executive trainees is purely provisional and is subject to the
fulfilment of eligibility conditions as laid down in the vacancy notification No.
CSL/P&A/RECTT/PERMANENT/EXECUTIVE TRAINEES/2021/11 dated 01 October 2021. If, inadvertently, a call letter is
issued to any candidate to attend the selection, then his/her candidature will be cancelled accordingly at any time as and
when any such shortcomings is/are detected and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Candidates
who are found engaged in malpractices or violating the instructions issued by the Invigilator in the examination hall will be
disqualified.

FURTHER SELECTION PROCESS.

A. PLEASE READ T HE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INST RUCT IONS CAREFULLY 

1. Candidates should ensure that they fulfil all the prescribed requirements viz. age, qualification, caste, disability etc, as
mentioned in the vacancy notification No CSL/P&A/RECTT/PERMANENT/EXECUTIVE TRAINEES/2021/11 dated 01
October 2021 before appearing for the Objective Type Online test. Your candidature for this selection test is "PURELY
PROVISIONAL" pending detailed scrutiny of your fulfilling the eligibility conditions as mentioned in the vacancy
notification dated 01 October 2021. In case, it is found that the candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria,
candidature of such candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage. 

2. NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN EXAMINATION CENTRE/DATE/TIME OF EXAM WILL BE CONSIDERED UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCE.

3. The candidate must bring two (2) copies of this Call letter with latest passport size photographs (pasted below
the pre-printed photograph) to enter the Examination Centre. The candidate is also required to bring one photo
identification card in original viz. Passport/ Election ID Card/ Aadhaar/ Driving license issued by the
Government, along with 2 copies of the call letter. No candidate will be allowed entry without this call letter
and photo ID.

4. One Copy of the call letter is to be submitted to the invigilator at the time of the test. The candidates should retain
another copy of the call letter, till the completion of selection process.

5. The candidates belonging to Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) category may please ensure that they are eligible to use a
scribe as per the Government of India rules governing the recruitment of Persons with  Benchmark Disability. Such
candidates availing the services of scribe for the test, are required to submit a valid Certificate of  Benchmark
Disability and the declaration published on CSL website, filled in with requisite details to the invigilator for
attending the test. Such candidates who wish to avail the services of scribe shall not be permitted to use the services of
scribe without submitting the declaration to the invigilator.

. Grace time for completion of the test for PwBD candidates is upto 20 minutes. This includes candidates  with  disability 
who  have  physical  limitation  to  write  including  that  of  speed whether availing the facility of a scribe or not.

7. Exam timing is 10.30 AM TO 11.30 AM. Candidates are required to report at the Examination Center by 8:30 AM
and will not be allowed to enter the Examination Center after 10:15 AM.

. Contactless frisking of candidates at test centres shall be carried out following the COVID-19 or any other pandemic
related guidelines. Pens / pencils and papers for rough work shall be supplied inside examination hall. Pens / pencils /
papers carried by the candidates shall not be permitted inside the examination hall. Possession and use of electronic
devices such as camera, mobile phones, micro phone or any other associated accessories, log tables, pager, digital diary
books, other electronic gadgets etc shall strictly be prohibited in the exam hall. Wrist watch / any metallic devices /
copper / aluminium / silver / any jewellery / accessories / wire / cell battery or similar material shall be strictly
prohibited inside the exam hall. Candidate shall be permitted to wear slippers and sandals with low heels inside the
exam hall and shall not be permitted to wear covered shoes or chappals

9. Paper provided for Rough work, which should be returned back to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
10. The test shall consist of 60 multiple choice objective questions & time duration is 60 minutes. The Total Marks is 60
(1 mark for each question). There shall be no negative marking.

11. The test Question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi Language).

12. For all updates including the answer keys of the test and short-listing, you may frequently visit CSL website.

13. No travelling allowance will be paid to any candidates for appearing for the online test.

14. This call letter does not constitute an offer of appointment and mere attending the Online Test will not entitle the
candidate to any claim for employment in Cochin Shipyard.

B . ONLINE T EST INST RUCT IONS:

1. Your Login ID is your Application Number, the password provided to you at the time of registration as is also
available on the call letter.

2. The duration of the online test is 60 Minutes.

3. There shall be 60 multiple choice objective questions. For each question, four alternative answers have been
provided out of which only one answer is correct. 

4. Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The candidate should click on “Next” to go to the
next question or on “Previous” button provided at the bottom of the screen to go to the previous question.

5. The candidate can choose to unmark his/her answer by clicking the “Clear” button provided at the bottom of the screen.

. The timer is available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen; you are requested to keep a tab on it to ensure
that you plan your exam within the allocated time.

7. The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame.

. The list of attempted and un-attempted questions is shown in the right side of the screen. You can click on any of the
attempted ones to revise the answers in case you wish so.

9. Candidate has the option to bookmark a question in case he/she wishes to review it at a later stage by clicking on the
“Mark” button available at the bottom of the screen. The Bookmark on a particular question can be removed by clicking
on “Mark”

10. The question palette at the right of the screen shows the following status of each of the questions numbered as:  
  You have answered the question/              You have not answered the question and marked for review
   You have answered the question but marked for review    You have not answered the question

PS: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions only as long
as the candidate does not “Clear” the option selected.

11. Candidates should use the “Next” OR “Previous”  button or click on the question number displayed at the right side of
the screen to move back and forth between questions.

12. The answers will be saved whenever the candidate goes to the next question, by clicking on “Next” OR “Previous”
button. However, the last question will be saved automatically after answering.

13. If a candidate finishes the paper within the stipulated time, he/she can end the test by clicking the “End Test” button.
However, candidates will not be allowed to leave the test hall till the end of the stipulated time.

14. On the completion of the test duration, even if the candidate does not click on the “End Test” button, his/her test
will be automatically submitted by the computer.

15. In the event of the test being disrupted, the candidate should immediately inform the invigilator. The invigilator will help
the candidate to re-login to the Examination. This will start the Examination from where it had discontinued/stopped.

1 . Any candidate found in possession of any unauthorized material or indulging in copying or impersonation or adopting
unfair means shall entail disciplinary action including cancellation of candidature.

17. Other terms and conditions of the vacancy notification No CSL/P&A/RECTT /PERMANENT/EXECUTIVE
TRAINEES/2021/11 dated 01 October 2021 shall apply.
