Summer School Credit Recovery – Biology 1 and 2

This course is designed for those students seeking credit recovery after failure to pass
Biology First and/or Second semester during the regular school year. Hopefully it will
create an interest in science and a confidence for higher learning experiences. The class is
very hands on with many interesting activities and student involvement.

Summer School Schedule


Period 1: 8:30 am~11:30am
Break: 11:30 am~12:00 pm
Period 2: 12:00 pm~3:05 pm

Last day of instruction July 14

Class Materials: A charged Chrome Book and Charger


Paper and Writing Materials
Binder with 5 Dividers
All to be brought to Class every day.

Attendance: Students are expected to attend all 24 days


Students may miss 3 days. If a student misses more than 4
days, the administration will review, and the student may be
dropped from the program.
Students are expected to be on time. Excessive tardies will be
reviewed by the administration.

A. 90~100%
B. 80~89%
C. 70~79%
D. 60~69%
F 59~0%
Quizzes. 15%
Unit Tests 10%
Class Work 15%
Labs. 20%
Projects. 20%
Biology Binder. 10%
Participation. 10%

Assignments

We will do most of our work during class. Any work not finished must be completed at home
and turned in the next day.
There will be quizzes and tests. Any quiz or test below 70% may be retaken the next day for 90%
of the best grade.
If a student misses a day of class, it is their responsibility to speak to me and get the work. It
will be due the next day.
There will be opportunities to do extra credit work to improve a student’s overall grade. Extra
credit cannot be done instead of assigned class work.

Biology Notebook/Binder

Students will put all of their finished work in a folder in class.


After it is graded and returned, Everything will be organized in a 2 inch binder with 5 dividers.
Nothing will be thrown away.
