Penatalaksanaan Fisioterapi Pada Kasus: Osteoarthritis Knee Sinistra Dengan Modalitas Infra Red (Ir) Dan Terapi Latihan
ABSTRACT
Background : Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease of the knee joint due to the abrasion of
joint cartilage and the formation of new bone on the joint surface. The problems with
osteoarthritis of the knee are pain in the area around the knee, a decrease in the range of motion of
the joint, a decrease in muscle strength, and a decrease in functional ability activity. Physiotherapy
examination includes examination of pain, anthropometry, joint range of motion, muscle strength
and examination of functional ability activities. In this case the technology chosen is Infra Red and
Exercise Therapy.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of physiotherapy management on
knee osteoarthritis withmodalities Infra Red and Exercise Therapy. This research was conducted
at RSUD Dr. M. Ashari Pemalang with descriptive analysis research design. The subjects of this
study were patients with knee osteoarthritis withmodalities Infra Red and Exercise Therapy. The
method of data collection and data analysis in this study was using the autoanamnesis method, the
research instruments were Visual Descriptive Scale (VDS), palpation, midline, goniometer,
Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), and WOMAC Scale (Western Ontario And Mcmaster
Universities Osteoarthritis Index).
Results: The results of this study were 4 treatments as follows: (1) there was a decrease in pain (2)
there was an increase in the range of motion of the joints (3) there was an increase in muscle
strength (4) there was no increase in the ability of functional activities.
Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that physiotherapy interventions with modalities Infra
Red and Exercise Therapy can reduce problems that arise in the condition of knee osteoarthritis.
