a. The number of characters in one block was not even.
5. SR 592 END OF RECORD
a. EOR (%) was specified halfway through a block.
6. SR 805 ILLEGAL COMMAND
a. An attempt was made to specify an illegal command for Reader/Puncher interface. A
system error in most cases.
7. SR 806 DEVICE TYPE MISMATCH
a. Such a job as cannot be done by I/O device being selected by setting was specified. Ex:
heading of file was specified without using FANUC cassette.
8. SR 807 PARAMETER SETTING ERROR
a. An I/O interface was specified without being selected at the option or a set value of
setting/ parameter related to I/O interface was in error.
9. SR 820 SR 830 SR 840 DR OFF
a. DR OFF
b. DR OFF
c. Data set ready signal of reader/puncher interface 1, 2 or 3 turned off.
10. SR 821 SR 831 SR 841 CD OFF
a. CD OFF

a. Correspondence between the counter value of absolute pulse coder and the machine
coordinate system does not agree.
15. PW 000 POWER MUST BE OFF
a. A parameter to turn off power was once set.
WRITE PROTECT No data can be entered because the memory protection key (work
coordinate value, offset value, and program) is in effect, or parameter entry is impossible because the
data number 8000 PWE used to enable writing parameter is set to 0.

FANUC Series 15- Model A Parameters

PRM Data Description
0020 Input device interface number for foreground 1=CD4A of Base 0 PCB
0021 Output device interface number for foreground 2=CD4B of Base 0 PCB
0022 Input device interface number for background 3=CD4 of Serial Port PCB
0023 Output device interface number for background 13=CD3 of Serial Port PCB

The parameter you set in 20 ~ 23 depends on where your RS-232 cable is connected to the
control. If you set the same value in all 4 parameters, it will use the same port for input and
output in foreground or background.

PRM Description
5001 I/O device number connected to CD4A of Base 0 PCB.
5002 I/O device number connected to CD4B of Base 0 PCB.
5003 I/O device number to be connected to CD4 of Serial Port PCB.
5013 I/O device number to be connected to CD3 of Serial Port PCB.

The parameter you set in 5001 ~ 5013 depends on where your RS-232C cable is connected,
at Base 0 or Serial Port PCB. The device number you enter selects the parameters used to set
device type, baudrate and stop bits. These parameters are described below.
