1.1 Overview
The intent of this BIM Execution Plan (BEP) is to provide a framework that will let the Team members
deploy building information modeling (BIM) technology and best practices on this project faster and more
cost-effectively.
This document delineates roles and responsibility, the detail and scope of information to be shared,
relevant business processes and supporting software, information exchange and final handover as outlined
in the EIR.
The BEP is prepared by the Team members together to demonstrate the proposed approach, and the
capability, capacity and competence of the delivery team and supply chain to meet the EIR.
This BEP will be a living document - revised and updated as necessary by the project team to reflect
changes in BIM development that occur during project execution

3.2 Planning of work and data segregation

Required in response to the EIR.
The LEAD APPOINTED PARTY is to work with APPOINTING PARTY to establish project segregation.
The agreed approach is to be documented in the BEP.
Each originating APPOINTED PARTY should develop and fully understand the method for developing
BIMs to coordinate and support the outputs required. It is advised that models are segregated into
multiple linked models, and the strategy for this is to be incorporated into the project BEP.

• Lead and manage the BIM process with overall responsibility for the
development and delivery of BIM Project Execution Plan and
Implementing BIM protocols and strategy for the project.
• Act as lead contact for BIM related items for all relevant project
stakeholders and manage collaboration among all parties.
• Ensure the deliverables are issued on schedule and in accordance
with the BIM development program.
• Organize and conduct BIM project meetings
• Coordinate with BIM Coordinators on monitoring the BIM progress
and compliance with the BIM PXP.

coordination/ clash mitigation meetings and provide clash detection

3.5 Coordination and Clash Issue Management

The coordination and clash issue management process shall follow the requirements as per the Appointing
Party BIM Specification
3.6 Common Data Environment

The proposed Common Data Environment (CDE) platform for the project shall be Bimsync to support
project-wide collaboration, management, sharing, and exchange of all information during the delivery
phase. The CDE framework shall follow the principles defined in ISO 19650.

The successful implementation of CDE will include conducting workshops to ensure the information
management and delivery requirements are understood by the project team.
3.7 Collaboration Strategy

To ensure a successful BIM process, the Project shall implement a Common Data Environment solution and
workflow to enable open communication and a collaborative working environment among all parties. The

CDE solution and workflow is to enable the development of federated information models from different
task teams.

This workflow below will also be undertaken ad-hoc as required to support project delivery.
3.8 Structuring and classification of information

Required in response to the EIR.
The delivery team confirm that classification of information within information containers should be in
accordance with Uniclass 2015 (ISO 19650-2 NA.4.4).
As a minimum Uniclass 2015 classification is to be applied to each information container (ideally as

metadata) to define container content as appropriate and included/ embedded in the contents of 3D model
objects.
3.9 Naming requirements

The delivery team to confirm that the information containers will be named following the ISO standards

To ensure that the integrity of the BIM model and other data sources is maintained, a quality assurance
and control procedure will be implemented.
The project shall carry out checks based upon the Construction BIM Specification, under QA/QC
Requirements to ensure the BIM project’s compliance throughout the project.

3.11 Security
The delivery team will use concepts and principles included in the ISO19650-5 to manage security
processes related to BIM.
We confirm we are aware of out a duty of confidentiality and responsibility to safeguard all Owner
information and/or data that they provide and/or access (particularly sensitive ones - for example, CCTV/
security installation information).
3.12 Health and Safety

We confirm that the delivery team will use concepts and principles included in the Appointing Party
documents on managing Health and Safety Activities.
3.13 Handover Strategy

The lead appointment party confirms that we will transfer all information to Owner CDE at the end of
appointment 1 week after project completion. The list of the deliverables will be in the MIDP.
3.14 BIM Uses

3.15 Federation Strategy

Federation and information container breakdown shall be defined to allow:
• Simultaneous working within different task/ delivery teams

• Support information security
• Ease of information transmission
• Adhering to the file size limitation.
Since the employer’s BIM model will be developed to the Construction BIM model, the existing model
breakdown structure shall be used as a base reference to further develop the project’s federation strategy.
This approach will help the team to cut time and ease effort on setting-up the model breakdown structure
as well as preventing loss of information embedded in the models.

Confirm the timing and content of information exchanges between the Appointing Party and
Appointed Party and how information exchanges are aligned to work stages.

Formal Information exchanges will be adopted in order to support key decision stages and/or milestones in
the project and they should be exchanged prior to the end of a stage to advise the decision gateways.
There may be a number of information exchanges within a defined stage.

4.7 Asset Information Model (AIM)

The AIM deliverables will comprise BIM and non-BIM deliverables. The BIM deliverables consist of a set of
BIM models (e.g. architectural model, structural model, and MEP model) where each of the models contains
a geometric representation of the BIM Elements and their selected non-geometric attributes. The non-BIM
deliverables usually will consist of other asset information documents (files in PDF, JPEG, XLS, databases,
etc.) that are linked and referred by the BIM deliverables.
The figure below shows the structure of the Asset Information Model.
4.8 Trial
The Lead appointed party will conduct an initial trial for the exchange of BIM data to help identify any
unknown and unique issues with collaboratively exchanging information amongst the appointed project
