M640 Reloading Mazatrol from Hard Drive

Purpose:
This procedure explains how to reload your Main-B (Mazatrol) software. This procedure may be
necessary when control has boot up issues such as getting stuck on Mazatrol Splash Screen:

Overview:
This procedure will not cover backing up (please contact MEAU for Backing up NC and HD procedure). It
will assume hard drive has the software folder "ncbackup" with appropriate files still in place and CPU 7-
segment has a "9" with a blinking dot with WDER LED turned OFF.

Tools Needed:
External Keyboard with PS2 connection

Instructions:
I. Closing Mazatrol Screen
A. Getting to the Desktop
1. While the NC is OFF, connect your keyboard to the PS2 connector underneath the hard
drive. (see Appendix to find connection)
2. Power up, once your display is on the Splash screen, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE on
your keyboard
3. Click on TASK MANAGER
4. Cursor down with your keyboard to highlight "M64AtMain" or “T64ATMAIN”
5. Click on the End Task button

6. If this screen pops up
7. Click on End Task

8. Now you should be on the Windows Desktop. If part of the Position screen still shows,
continue with the reloading of software. This will not affect the install.
B. Reloading Mazatrol software from the Hard Drive
1. Move your mouse pointer to the lower left of the screen if you don't already see your
"START" button as shown below:

2. Once the "START" button becomes visible, RIGHT-click on it and select "Explore"

3. Find and select the "ncbackup" folder in the C: directory

4. Double-click on the "disk1" folder
5. Double-click on the "Setup.exe" file

1. When the setup software begins, you will see a status bar load from 0% to 100%

2. You will see a green background with "MAZATROL FUSION" and a BND version
display, this is normal and it will also load a few more status bars loading from 0% to
100%.
3. Click on Next

4. Once completed, you will get a pop-up window stating that it has finished installing
MAZATROL FUSION 640 on your computer, click on "FINISH"

5. Click on "START", and select "SHUT DOWN"

6. Make sure SHUT DOWN is selected and click on "YES"

7. Cycle power at the main breaker and turn back on after 10 seconds.
8. Done.

II. FAQs
A. What if it fails to load completely and do not get the Finish pop-up like in C-3?
1. You can try reloading software from front PCMCIA slot (if available), please ask for
"M640 Reloading Mazatrol from PCMCIA"
2. You may need to order a new Hard Drive, please note the BND version it tried to load to
have the new replacement hard drive loaded with the same software version.
i. Also, ask to attain the "Hard Drive Replacement procedure" (USA-E00081-041*)
B. What if I still have the same problem?
1. You may need to replace your Hard Drive or confirm control is not over heating.
