Thank you for choosing our Metal Detector TX-650. Please read this manual
carefully and know the function of TX-650 before use. And please keep it for
future reference.
Tips:
1. It is recommended to use the TX-650 outdoors, because of too much
interference indoors.
2. In the higher sensitivity range, the detector will be more sensitive to elec-
tromagnetic interference. By reducing the sensitivity, the interference will
be reduced correspondingly.
3. When detecting metals, move the search coil at a constant speed. Keep the
search coil parallel with the ground and about 1/2 inch above the surface.
Do not swing it like a pendulum.
4. For coin-sized objects, the depth indicator is accurate. But for large-sized
objects or irregular-shaped objects, the accuracy will reduce slightly.
5. For most of the valuable metal objects, the detector will send out a consis-
tent signal. If the signal isn't consistent, it may be a false signal.
6. If the PINPOINT mode malfunctioned, sending a signal even though there
is no metal, lift the detector and press the P-P button once to solve the
problem.

mode used last time. It will automatically adjust for ground minerals and be

Basic Operation Target Metal Value—Work with the Target Metal Cursor to indicate the target
metal, with ferrous (iron) targets at the left, non-ferrous targets that are thin or
with low conductivity in the middle, and thick or targets with high conductivi-
ty (e.g., thick silver) at the right.

Battery Indicator Target Metal Cursor (Upper Line)—All the cursors will be displayed once
powered on, but it will only make sounds for targets selected on the lower
line.
Discriminated Metal Cursor (Lower Line)—Display the current discrimina-
tion pattern, with displayed cursors indicating selected targets and blank
cursors indicating discriminated targets.
Double Digits/P-P—Display a value from 0 to 99 to identify targets more
precisely than the metal cursor.
Coin Depth Indicator—Show the depth of a coin, or a target of a similar size.
Note: Targets larger than a coin may display shallower than actual depth
while targets smaller than a coin may display deeper than actual depth.
Power Button
The following sample chart displays the ranges of some commonly found
items.

time when there is only one bar left.

 2. Audio Features
Tone ID—The Metal detector produces three distinct tones based on a
target’s metal type and conductivity.
Targets with high conductivity (the value is larger than 60) produce a
unique bell-tone signal.
Targets with medium to low conductivity (the value is between 40 and 60)
produce a medium-pitched signal.
Ferrous targets (the value is less than 40) produce a low-pitch signal.
Headphone Jack—Use any headphones with a plug of 3.5mm.
3. Selecting Modes (Discrimination Patterns)
JEWELRY Mode—Designed to find jewelry such as rings, bracelets, watch-
es, and necklaces, while ignoring most iron trash.
CUSTOM Mode—It can be programmed by the user and the metal detec-
tor will save the changes when the detector is switched off. The factory
preset for the CUSTOM mode is the same as the COINS mode. Beginning
with this discrimination pattern, press DISCRIM and Enter buttons to
customize the mode as desired.
RELICS Mode—Designed to eliminate small iron pieces, while detecting
valuable targets within the range of the lower conductivity, such as lead,
brass and bronze.
COINS Mode—Designed to find most types of coins and to eliminate
common trash items such as iron and foil. Some desired items similar to
foil may also be eliminated. The detector may respond to some buried junk
targets, such as aluminum cans.
NON IRON Mode—Designed to find valuable targets, such as brass, silver
and gold, and eliminate all kinds of iron trash.

4. Sensitivity

Use the (↑) or (↓) SENSITIVITY buttons to increase or decrease the sensitiv-
ity of the detector, with eight (8) levels. Increase the sensitivity when search-
ing targets that are too small or buried deeply below the earth. Decrease the
sensitivity when the detector is working erratically (due to excessive metallic
trash, highly mineralized soils, electrical interference or the presence of other
metal detectors). Under this situation, the erratic operation cannot be
resolved with discrimination.

Note: This is the preset notch discrimination pattern for the COINS mode.
Choose one from five preset discrimination patterns or use the CUSTOM mode
to save a personal pattern.

Use the MODE buttons to select the six modes. Sensitivity Indicator
· A/M‒Detect every type of metal. All 12 cursors are displayed with no metals
discriminated. Use this mode to find all metal items or when the material of the SENSITIVITY Button

 5. Notch Discrimination Pattern Press the (↑) or (↓) DISCRIM buttons to position the target metal cursor on
the upper line above the one you want to eliminate (see the figure above).

The metal detector has 12 cursors or "notches" of discrimination, shown on
the lower line. Any cursors can be switched on or off as desired. There are two
primary methods for modifying the Notch Discrimination pattern to eliminate
a specific type of trash or unwanted item.
For the first method, use the (↑) or (↓) DISCRIM buttons to select the target
metal cursor on the left or right. Next, press the ENTER button to eliminate or
select the cursor on the lower line, directly below the line of the target metal
cursor.
The second method of modifying the Notch Discrimination pattern is to press
the ENTER button only. When an unwanted target is detected, simply press
the ENTER button to eliminate the target metal cursor. The next time when
this item is encountered, the detector will not make a response to it.
Note: Notch Discrimination can also be used to find specific metal items. For
example, if you lost an earring, scan the other earring with the A/M mode
selected and note its target metal cursor. Then use the DISCRIM and ENTER Note: Changes made to the Notch Discrimination pattern when the detector

6. PINPOINT
