BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC:

Indian educational system is considered to be one of the best in the world, however there is huge gap when compared to the global standards in terms of people being able to think independently and taking up entrepreneurship. We as a group came to a common point after a discussion that any nation s growth depends on youth of the nation. So it is necessary to carve them from the very seminal stage by taking a step towards introduci ng the system of liberal education, which can fill up the gap as mentioned above. Liberal education is a type of education that allows students to select courses that he or she wishes to learn. Such education helps the students to learn what they are inte rested in.

Liberal education has been very effective and popular in abroad. Liberal education not just aims at creating doctors and engineers but poets, noble laureates and creative artists. It encourages inculcation of sports, performing arts and visual arts along with academic studies . Liberal education is not some fusty notion about reading good books, but is rather an important investment in the future. India will be a fairer and more productive society if more students graduate with not only a set of specific skills but also a liberal arts-inspired capacity to acquire new ones. Above all, the higher education sector needs the structural flexibility to break free from the lingering colonial canon. It is profoundly contradictory that so many educated In dians are proud of their heritage, but simply cannot comprehend its place in a university, as if Wordsworth and Dickens would be terribly upset if a great Indian writer appeared on a reading list alongside them. It s unwarranted to carry on with the old and creaky paradigms of what the canon is, Nair says. What we mean by excellence needs to be rethought. We have a once-in-a-century opportunity to do just that.

Presently the educational Industry is USD 50 billion strong and it expected to show an increase of 12% in 2010 and by 2012 it expected to touch USD 80 billion. Universities and colleges in India have grown at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of over 5% and 6% respectively, since independence. The statistics clearly shows that more number of private institutes is going to surface offering various courses. Not only full time educational institutions but various other training centers offering computer education, entrance coaching, career counseling etc.

We also propose to widen our scope to take into account organizations in the same sector which are Fabindia and Anokhee so as to compare these organizations with Kala Raksha.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
The method by which research would be carried forward and the source of getting the information would include Primary data and secondary data. A) For the purpose of primary data the following research instruments will be used: Questionnaire: This is one of the most common and popular tools used for collecting the primary data. There are basically two types of questions, open-ended questions and close -ended questions. Interviews: The interview method of collecting data involves presentation of oral-verbal stimuli and reply in terms of oral -verbal
