Information received from the Client

 Mentioned in Utility Design Technical Specification Sheet

Pole Design:

Designs are based on the following codes/standards/documents

1. ASCE/SEI 48-19, "Design of Steel Transmission Pole Structures"

2. Load Calculation : IS:802 (P1/S1) / IS 875
3. Sag & Clearance : IS:5613 (P2/S1)
4. CBIP MANUAL : Publication No. 323 released in 2014

Steel pole configuration is based on quote drawing attached along with this document.

Steel monopole shaft consists of 12-side shape sections. Slip Joint between sections are included in our
proposal. In the slip joint design, minimum overlap shall be 1.5 times the maximum inside diameter of outer
section at the slip joint.

Conductor arms use 6 side shape cross section. Arms are connected to pole shaft through bolted
connection between 3-piece weld at inside end of arm and through plates welded to pole shaft.

Under extreme loading condition, steel pole could incur bigger deflection than lattice pole. Extra secondary
bending moment and stress due to deflection (P-∆ analysis) is included in our non-linear finite element
analysis. Safety and strength of poles are guaranteed in all loading conditions specified by design codes.

Reinforced concrete foundation (M25) is used for steel poles. Cage Assembly (Anchor bolt, Top Template
& bottom Template) are part of the foundation which will be used to connect Pole & Foundation. Base plate
is welded at bottom of pole shaft and pole is fixed to foundation through base plate to anchor bolts
connection. Foundation designs shall be in customer’s scope

MATERIAL GRADES

The following materials will be used:

Pole shaft / Arms : E450 or Equivalent

Base plate : E350 or Equivalent
Others : E250 or Equivalent
Anchor bolts : 6.8 Grade
Connection bolts : 8.8 Grade
Galvanization : IS 4759 / BS EN 1461 / ASTM A123 &153
FABRICATION & WELD SPECIFICATIONS

Tolerances and Weld specifications are in accordance with Skipper's standard specification.

Systems are in place that will provide the following levels of test report traceability:

1. Direct, one-to-one traceability to pole shafts and base plates

2. Batch to other structural components

The test reports and inspection records are maintained at Skipper Manufacturing Plant location. When
requested, these can be provided to the customer no sooner than two weeks after the fabrication of the
component.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FROM THE CLIENT (YES / NO) IF YES MENTION BELOW
