The proposed IDRIS project (Qatar) includes the design and construction of 70km of
lateral interceptor sewers, 45 km of deep trunk sewers, the Terminal Pump Station
(TPS), the New Doha South Sewage Treatment Works, the TSE return system and the
decommissioning of 30 existing four-sewer pump stations. The project is estimated to
cost QR10bn ($2.67bn).
Duties and responsibilities:
 Professional support to the RE and PM.
 Review contractor’s Plans, Method statements and material submittals for compliance
with the design intent.
 Managed the duties of Site Engineers and inspectors of works during the shift.
 Monitored the site construction of (D-wall & grouted shafts) activities of the contractor
to ensure compliance with the design and certify the execution of the works.
 Liaison with other discipline leaders, ensuring all parties are kept informed of all
relevant matters in relation to the discipline and co-ordinate & resolve issues in a timely
manner.
 Detect nonconformance in construction and manage remedial works.
 Routine Precast Factory visit to check the construction material and quality of casted
segments.
 Witnessed activities like exploratory drilling, core drilling, pressure grouting, and cross-
hole sonic tests.

($5bn). Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project. Twin 11.2km head race tunnels of 8.5m
dia, using two Herrenknecht hard rock TBMs. The project installed capacity 969MW.
Drill & Blast Twin Tunnel, Length 19.6 km X-section Area varies from 52 m², -58m²,
Single HR Tunnel, Length 8.94 km X-section Area 104m²,.The twin tunnels at Lot-C2
passes under the Jhelum River at approximately 175m below river bed (65m wide bed).
Duties and responsibilities:
 Direct reporting to RE and CRE.
 Reviewed contractor’s technical documents for compliance with the design intent and
approved material submittals as per project specifications and supervised all the

required tests (Soils test, aggregate test, cement concrete mixture, admixtures test.
 Manage the duties of inspectors and junior engineers during the shift.
 Monitored the assembling of open gripper type hard rock TBMs starting from cutter
head, main drive to complete backup system of 7 gantries including grippers, rock
bolters, Shotcrete system, conveyor belt system and different auxiliary systems.
 Monitored site construction activities of the contractor to ensure compliance with the
design and certify the execution of the works.
 Supervised tunnel excavation cycle with all support elements, and geological mapping
review, tunnel logging, evaluation of rock class using Q-value method (D&B) and
(TBM).
 Periodic inspection of grippers, gage cutter wear, grill strips / grill bars wear, face
cutters protection wedge wear, face plates wear and take all wear measurements.
Preparation of the complete inspection report with photographs.
 Witnessed geotechnical activities like probe drilling, exploratory drilling, Hydro
jacking, core drilling, installation of geotechnical instruments above and underground,
rock classification at Dam site, Pressure grouting (cement grouting, chemical grouting).

 Monitored on monthly basis the following permanent material checking in Tunnels.
Shotcrete Cracks Mapping, Voids & Drummy Shotcrete Test, Suspicious Shotcrete

Shell and Swellex rock bolts, motor Strips on cracked Shotcrete (to monitor the opening

Duties and responsibilities:
 Responsible for the overall daily site management.
 Responsible for full details regarding topography of the area, lithological characters of
the rocks (such as bedding planes, joints, foliation, cleavage) or soil and the ground
water conditions.
 Responsible for the drilling and blasting of hard rock, excavated rock classification,
geological mapping.
 Conduct engineering analyzes including slope stability and support measures.
 Responsible fort daily activities, monthly progress reports.
4) GEOCONSULT -Typsa (JV) ECIL, EMS.
DESIGNATION: - SENIOR ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST
May, 2007– September, 2011 (52 months)
The total cost of the tunnel was ($260 million). Lowari Road Tunnel is a group of two
tunnels (8.75km & 1.8km). The tunnels are located in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa a province
of Pakistan and connect Dir and Chitral. Apart from two tunnels project has five long
connective bridges, Shafts (30m to 40m deep), 20km highway both side of project
(south & north), Avalanche galleries at different locations of highway and both side
slops stability works etc.
Duties and responsibilities:
 Direct reporting to DPM and reviewed contractor’s Plans, method statements according
to specification for compliance with the design intent.
 Manage the duties of junior geologists during the shift.
 Done Geological face mapping and discontinuities measurements of every new face for
the tunnel support according to actual geological conditions. Tunnel logging and
evaluation of rock mass for rock excavation class used NATAM method.
 Monitored site geological and geotechnical activities of the contractor to ensure
compliance with the design and certify the execution of the works.
 Witnessed geotechnical activities like Probe drilling, exploratory drilling, core drilling
and on the basis of collected data report writing. Pressure grouting (cement grouting,
chemical grouting).
 Monitoring borehole Extensometer, Piezometer and bi-reflex target and processing data
results.
 Rock classification along the road sides, Responsible for the supervision and
management of ground investigations, ground improvement, 22 shafts logging
geological reporting and platform compaction works and FDT test.
 Provide QME technical assistance on variations / claims issues.

tunnels (8.75km & 1.8km) that traverse Lowari Pass.
Duties and responsibilities:
 Assistant to senior geologist and responsible for the geological faces mapping and
discontinuities measurements of every new tunnel face for record.
 Responsible for platform compaction works, FDT test and slope cut area rock bolting,

Shotcreting, core drilling and core box management.
 Responsible for daily check of water flow meter and record the readings.
 Responsible for the checking of tunnel support material stock and provide record to
senior material engineer.
 Responsible for daily activities report.
