1 PLACEMENT RULES JNTUHUCEH

As students of JNTUH UCEH, you definitely have potential to achieve higher objectives. The
prerequisite for the same is that you need to realize your strengths and focus on honing the skills and
upgrading the knowledge.

The important aspect of achieving your objective is capacity building and training in technical,
personal and professional skills.

The TPC facilitates the training in the following topics.

1. Technical training which includes training in coding skills and how to use it for
problem solving. Programing is the essential skill for an engineer of any discipline. (Also 80%
of companies that come for campus are IT/SW based and programming is the necessary skill
they use for assessing students) – Codechef platform and Alumni Portal. Ananya platform
too conducts training in programming skills as well as domain specific skills.

All pre final years should join code chef platform and take active role in learning concepts and
doing assignments from time to time. Also, register in the college alumni portal.

2. Aptitude Training which includes training in quant, verbal ability and logical reasoning and
soft skills – Ananya Platform as well as JNTUHCEH Alumni Portal

For capacity building, you need to participate in internships and mini projects to demonstrate your
domain specific skills and participate in various challenges through accepted platforms.

Engage yourself in these activities for exposing yourself to better career opportunities.

The placement season will start in full swing from the month of July/August 2022. You must already
be receiving offers for internship.

Also, Campus Readiness Training (CRT) is initiated through platforms; Codechef, Ananya and
alumni portal. Experts from alumni also will be brought in deliver expert talks on awareness of
various domain specific skills as well as opportunities. This necessitates your registration in the
alumni portal. If you have not registered in the portal till date, register using the
link: https://alumni.jntuhceh.ac.in/

This is the time for you to understand the following:

 What is expected from you?

 Requirements of Internship
 Placement rules
 Dos and Do nots

What is expected from you?

1. Ensure that you are all well connected. If you are a student of a particular
branch/specialization, you should be part of a WhatsApp or any other social networking group
as well as a mail group (mandatory).
2 PLACEMENT RULES JNTUHUCEH

2. You are expected to take the maximum advantage of the training being provided by the
Institute through the above-mentioned platforms. Digital badges, certificates of training,
experience through internships and mini projects (that demonstrate the domain specific skills)
are very important for resume building.

3. You are expected to completely read the mail/message, (including this mail) in which the
details like Job Description (JD), eligibility criteria, CTC being offered, bonds if any, job location
and requirements for the assessment or Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) will be generally
mentioned.

4. Based on these details, if you are willing to accept the offer and eventually join only,
you apply for the given offer by filling the google form sent to you by your coordinator. If you
are not willing to join the company, drop from the further assessment at least at the interview
stage.

You should never share the campus-based application links with anyone from
outside the college.

5. Once you are offered a role, it is expected that you accept the offer. Even
if you
reject the offer, you will not be eligible to apply for another placement
within that offer level (non dream/dream/super dream).
6. You are expected not to make such choices which spoil the chances of other
students.

7. Those who are serious about a particular offer only should apply for that offer. If you apply
(as it is done by just filling the google form) and do not sit for further process
repeatedly, your candidature will not be considered for campus placements. All those applied
for the offer, should join the PPT followed by further assessment.

8. Those who wish to pursue higher studies should not apply for any core/dream/super
dream offer. They can apply for a non-dream IT offer.

9. You are expected to maintain strict timings while attending PPT sessions, assessments
as well as while sending data to TPC.

10. While applying for an internship or full-time offer (FT), mention the college name correctly,
as in JNTUH University College of Engineering (JNTUH UCEH).

What are the requirements of Internship?

 Firstly, internships are very important, as they help you gain the skills and use the same
towards achieving an outcome. The experience with internship helps you with the mini
project too. Both doing internship and submitting mini project report are essential and part of
the curriculum, which are allotted with credits. So, doing an internship is also mandatory.
3 PLACEMENT RULES JNTUHUCEH

 You need to participate preferably in an industry-based internship or the internship

which provides you with industry relevant skills.

 The experience gained from undertaking a domain specific internship and mini project, will
help you build your resume. As this experience is your own (apart from fundamental
knowledge of subjects), you are the expert in it and you can proudly showcase the same in
your resume.

 The main hurdle in taking up an internship is the time allocated for it as per the academic
calendar. The duration allocated by the college would generally be not sufficient. If you take
up an internship, that is more than 6 to 8 weeks, it is your responsibility to manage
attendance, class work as well as internship. This year, college has provided only 15
days in order to adjust the academic calendar.

 One of the options under such circumstance is to develop industry relevant skills, like
Coding, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, Ansys-CFX, CATIA, hydrology or structural design or GIS
based software, Casting or simulation software, PC making or VLSI etc and do a mini project
using those skills. It is better to take the advice of your faculty members in this regard.

This is regarding the internship offered during the summer months.

In Final year second semester too, the companies offer internship/training (in case of FT offer)
for 4 to 6 months.

If you are a PG student, sometimes internship will be offered for 6 months to 1 year too.

During the final semester, you will have class work and project/thesis to be submitted. The
internship undertaken by students during the final semester is not supported by the college.
This, if undertaken by the student, it is totally his/her responsibility to fulfil the academic
requirements, while working on an internship. However, you need to inform your project guide
and head of the department and take permission from both to attend the internship.

Rules, dos and don’ts:

The following are the placement rules that are formulated to fulfil the following requirements:
 to ensure the placements for majority number of students,
 to reduce the number of offers per student
 ensure a sustained relationship with the companies.

You should complete all backlogs by the end of II Year II sem.

Maintain a CGPA of above 7.5.

The companies which offer high CTC will generally keep a CGPA cut off of 8.5 and above.

Focus on your studies and ensure that you get good grades. You should be good with the
fundamentals and practical aspects of your domain.
4 PLACEMENT RULES JNTUHUCEH

The general Placement Rules are based on the CTC offered.

 The offers with, 3.5 lpa <= CTC < = 6 lpa, it is known as Non-Dream Offer.

 The offers with CTC, 6 lpa < CTC <=11 lpa, are known as Dream offers. All the core
jobs (for all branches other than CSE), with CTC in the range of 3.5 lpa to 10 lpa,
are individually considered as dream offers.

 The offers with CTC > 11 lpa, are considered as Super Dream Offers.

The Placement Rules for IT / Service/ SW Offers:

 The students who are placed in a company with CTC <=6 lpa (i.e who received a non
dream offer), are eligible for dream and super dream offers. If they are selected in one dream
offer, they should not attempt another dream offer, unless there is a CTC difference of 3 lpa.

 The students who are placed in a dream offer with CTC greater than 6 lpa and less than
or equal to 11 lpa, are not allowed for other dream offers, unless there is a CTC difference of 3
lpa. They however, are allowed for super dream offers.

 Students who are placed with a super dream offer, with CTC greater than 11 lpa, they
should not attempt any other offers on campus.

 The student who has received the FT offer and has agreed to join the internship/training
related to the FT offer, will not be eligible for any offers; as the student has committed for the
FT offer by taking up the internship/training. This is a serious issue and the students should
make a note of it.
The Placement Rules for Core Offers:

 All core offers are considered as Dream Offers, even if the CTC offered is 3.5 lpa or 8.5
lpa.

 The student who had received one Core offer, is not allowed to sit for another core offer,
even if there is a CTC difference of 3 lpa.

 Each core offer individually is a dream offer, which means that the student who received
the core offer, will not sit for any offers, other than super dream offers.

General Rules:

 Since the campus selections will happen simultaneously by several companies, those who
are selected, should stop going further in another recruitment process as per the above
mentioned rules. This, they should do voluntarily.

 The selected students should not attempt any assessments, even if they receive the test
links, after their selection in one company that falls within the same bracket of non dream,
dream or super dream, whichever applies, is confirmed.
5 PLACEMENT RULES JNTUHUCEH

 If any student who is already placed, is found to spoil the chances of other students
by participating in assessment and interview or rejected the offer after final selection,
the student will be penalized accordingly depending on the seriousness of the issue.

 While sending the data, the students should take time to fill the data properly. The PCs
should take time to check the missing data before sending it to TPC. The CCs should do the
final check, before forwarding it to TPC.

 PCs should send the data strictly as per the format. Always, send the consolidated data.
Never send the data individually or department wise.

 All the students and PCs are to strictly maintain the deadlines.

 The students should attend PPT sessions/assessments/interviews on time.

 Maintain courtesy and decorum as well as follow basic etiquette, while writing mails to
TPO, HR and other concerned officials or interacting with them through various social media
platforms.

 The PCs should interact actively in the whatsapp groups and post the student's concerns
as soon as they receive them. The students also should keep checking their mail boxes
regularly and inform the PCs on time.

The placement process is a team effort. Any weak link within the team will spoil the reputation
of our college and also spoils the chances of your juniors. Ethical and responsible behaviour
and time management are very important.

I hope and wish, all of you follow these basic principles.
