I wish to bring following few lines before you for your kind consideration and
favorable action for the detachment of my agency from the development officer for the Life Insurance Corporation of India and to unbind years of confinement as an agent under the development officer. Sir, I am appointed as an Agent in the year 1993, holding valid License No: 540492 and Agency Code No: is 00689 65C was been attached to Mr. K.Balaji the Development officer Bearing His Code No: 636 65 as Organization leader. The development officer in the Life Insurance Corporation of India, were the whole time class II employee his principal duties appears to be to organize and develop the business of the corporation in the area allotted to him and for that purpose to introduce active and reliable agents to train them, to canvass new business and to render post sale service to policy holder and he is also expected to assist, stimulate, motivate, inspire and excite the agent to work, to get new business for the corporation. Even so the development officer has no authority to appoint the agent and he does not even supervise the work of the agent, though he is required to guide and assist the agent and to be the friend and philosopher of the agent working within his jurisdiction and no more. Mr. K.Balaji the Development officer never performed any one of his principal duties in my case. And Completely Ignored integrity and devotion to duty, was been engaged in private illegal businesses called Real Estate, Share Market, and Money Lending etc. administration is quite aware of his businesses and received
many complaints along with proofs but since no action has initiated against him of course of his good luck and blessings from the god. Since the year 2000, I am myself individually built my career as an agent and became professional, now leading a team of 25 supervised agents under my organization through the chief life insurance Advisors scheme*. I am interviewed vis--vis by the three officers committee for ZM Club Member** Selections for FY 2008-2009 and the committee satisfied and declared that I am competent to work on my own for LIC as a member of Zonal Manager s Club for Agents. And in the same year I am further called for interview by other three officers committee for the selections of Chief Life Insurance Advisors Scheme, the committee was again satisfied that I am also competent to lead a team of supervised Agents. I am successfully proved as a chief life insurance Advisor and silver brigade for two consecutive years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. But still I am force to continuing under the development officer; though I am not even connected to him in any way. Only because of just introducing me to LIC and for just being under his organization he is getting the Credit on my business. He is being paid attractive salaries, allowances, and fringe benefits, along with this he is also been paid activation allowance, productive linked allowance, and incentive Bonuses and as many miscellaneous benefits from the agents earned first year premium income. I am the agent who put strenuous efforts to get New Business directly to the corporation and render post-sales service to the policy holder without the development officer s cooperation or concern. It is consternation to every agent that the corporation is being paid credit to the unconnected Development officer from the agents earned premium income. Premium income is purely people s money brought by the agent through selling various insurance products on commission up to 40%, everyone is aware of agent commission but nobody knows the development officer s income also included in the first year premium income via incentive up to 30%. Total 70% of first year premium is paid as overriding commission this is extra burden to customer that the corporation is unnecessarily pays crores of rupees as incentives to the development officer s kiddy account. *Chief Life Insurance Advisor s scheme is introduced in the year 2008. Senior Agents those who are Divisional
managers Club, Zonal Manager s Club and Chairman s club, are eligible to act as chief Life insurance Advisor on the basis of an interview by three member committee constituted by the Sr. Divisional Manager. Selected applicants will enter into a separate agreement on such term and conditions and functions as similar to full time salaried Employee Development officer.
**Club Membership is an Identification to the Agent at four levels, Branch Manager s Club, Divisional Manager s Club, Zonal Manager s Club, and chairman s Club was brought into existence with effect from 01.04.1971,the agents therefore to nurtured and cultivated to grow up in the profession, acquiring sufficient knowledge, skills and competence to discharge their duties efficiently towards policy holders. Each club has fixed targets; qualifiers are paid some enhanced benefits.
