Necron Stalkers

Necron stalkers are ponderous and ghoulish constructs. These chilling creatures are skeletal, gaunt, and of goliath proportion. These constructs are ponderous and inescapable as death itself, the only echo of life left to them an overly emphasized predatory urge to kill. These blighted automatons shamble and pry upon battlefields with silent macabre stares, searching out the living with a cold and incomprehensible desire. Stalkers are implacable giants that were first observed during the Skopios incident in 873.M38. Skopios was a small planetoid in interstellar space approximately 1 weeks warp travel from Elysia, used by the Adeptus Mechanicus as a containment facility for dangerous experimentation. When a routine patrol by the Imperial nd Navy reported no contact with the Skopios base, the 22 Elysian Drop Troops Regiment was sent to investigate. At first the facility seemed deserted upon arrival, but as the recon teams penetrated deeper into the facilities fighting quickly broke out. It was soon discovered the automated production facilities of the base had been transformed beyond recognition by agents unknown and were now manufacturing skeletal metal warriors. The 22nd was immediately ordered to cleanse and burn the facility and has since been declared Purgatus. It was in the aftermath of the encounter that pict-captures revealed the first sightings of the Stalker construct. It would not be until late in M41 that regular encounters with this particular warrior form would be observed again as the Necron raids became more frequent.
