    Sub.: Special Drive to check Electrical safety in Coaches.

    It is hereby directed to conduct a special drive across SWR to check Electrical safety in
    Coaches. Emphasis is to be laid on checks/ equipment mentioned below:

    SI no Check/ equipment Check needed in

    Working of OVP relay in RRU/ERRU's to be ensured. On run Generation


    1 check to be done and voltage to be recorded in Log book to confirm SG
    working of OVP.
    2 RMPU units for Electrical Safety: SG & LHB
    a. Tightness of all connections must be ensured SG & LHB
    b. Working of protections in Heating circuit SG & LHB
    c. Harting connector chamber is to be sealed to prevent water entry SG & LHB
    d. Vane relay working must be ensured. SG
    Power panel door in both AC and non-AC coaches are to be closed SG & LHB

    properly.
    4 No collection of paper and inflammable waste near FDB / roof of coach. SG & LHB

    No loose wires / hanging wires. All connections must be properly done and SG & LHB
    5
    connectors should be used wherever necessary.
    6 Fuses — Availability and Rating must be correct. SG & LHB
    7 Earthing in coach shall be checked every trip. SG & LHB
    8 Mobile charging points — condition and working should be checked. SG & LHB
    Underframe safety checks
    a. Battery box
    9 b. Axle pulley fitment SG
    c. Alternator fixing arrangement
    d. Alternator Pully fitment
    10 Condition of IV couplers should be checked. LHB

    The drive report shall be submitted to HQ by 25.06.2022.
