Answer carefully • Sometimes, you might have to take a guess. That
is better than leaving the question unanswered.
• Be careful when answering questions where you
have to complete a table, chart, etc. Check
carefully to avoid putting the right answers in the
wrong places.
• Take note that grammar is very important. Be
extra careful of subject-verb agreement and
tenses.
• Remember that you are probably not going to
hear the same words in the question and in the
answer. MCQ options may have been
paraphrased.
• If you are desperate (short of time or just not
knowing the answer), choosing answers like “All
of the above” is probably correct.

Answer carefully • Do not assume the answer. “Petronas Twin
Towers is the tallest twin towers in Asia” IS NOT
THE SAME AS “Petronas Twin Towers is the tallest
tower in Asia”.
• There is no penalty for writing answers in the
listening test in CAPITAL LETTERS. So if you are
unsure of punctuation, write in capital letters.
• If you are unsure of spelling, try to get the closest
sounding word but the spelling you provide must
not have another meaning. For example:
1. Correct answer: suite
2. Your answer: sweet (not accepted/have
another meaning)
3. Your answer: swiit (may be accepted/the
closest sounding word)
