The Problem
Access to quality healthcare is the “RIGHT” of all individuals, whether rich or poor. Nowhere is
the urban-rural divide more evident than in the rural health care system of developing nations. Accessible

access to preventive medicines and over 31% have to travel over 30km for treatment. About Accountable

Further, Non-communicable and chronic diseases are the leading causes of death in most parts
of the rural population. These deaths are mostly due to undiagnosed heart disease, strokes,
diabetes mellitus, and lung diseases. Most importantly, delayed
access to healthcare is assumed to negatively affect health due to
delays in diagnosis and treatment.
