HALLOWEEN

Halloween!! It’s probably one of my most favourite holiday which is

celebrated on the night of October 31. When people celebrate holiday, they use
some customs, organize parties, decorate their homes, watch horror movies, go
to the ghost houses and go from door to door in their neighborhood following the
old tradition of trick or treat, collect sweets and gifts, etc.

When children knocks at the door of a house or play the door bell, they
called ‘trick or treat’. The ‘ trick’ part is a fake threat signal that the children do a
mischief if they are not given sweets or anything delicious. Homeowners then give
sweets, or something else. Most homeowners decorate their houses to be the
best of over all. Not only traditional decoration but also include pumpkins and
candles are in front of the houses so that all the houses are beautiful and a little
bit scary. Some children play hide and seek in small houses, video games and any
other games like that. Some are having parties , wearing scary costumes.
Halloween is not just for kids. The adult also participate together with children.

During Halloween festival, Celtic farmers gave sacrifices and build big
bonfires to chase away dead spirit in hopes for healthy crops that following year.
In order to snoop away paganism believes in Celts , a Christian pope named first
of November as “ All Hallows Day” or “ All Saints Day” . Nowadays, it becomes
“Halloween”. Halloween is now celebrated in many countries such as Austria,
Belgium, Canada , China, Germany, England, etc. In Austria, some people leave
the bread, water and a bright light on the table before the Halloween is over.
There is a reason for this to happen to them. The reason for this is that they
believe that objects will be welcomed back to Earth on one night of the dead
souls.

The highest level of popularity about Halloween is related to North

America and Canada. Every year, 65% of Americans decorate their homes, shops
and offices for Halloween. That percentage is more than Christmas. And now,
Halloween is currently the second largest holiday after Christmas.
