Students Guidelines
The first-year students at School Commerce at SVKM’s NMIMS Indore will undergo three
weeks (15 days) internship in a non-government organization (NGO) during June 2022. This
is as per the University guidelines indicated in the student resource book (SRB) 2021. The
internship is mandatory for all students for progression to the next academic term.
I. Internship Process
1. The time slots to undertake the internship are – from 1st June to 20th June 2022.
2. The students will form a group of three and each group will look for a combined
internship in an NGO of their choice.
3. All the members of a group will attach themselves to the same NGO and same location
for the entire internship period.
4. The groups of BBA and B. Com(H) batches will be separate – 63 groups in BBA and
18 groups in B. Com(H).
5. Students will first form groups and upload the details of all the group members through
google form floated by the internship coordinator.
6. Each group will then be assigned a faculty mentor who will further guide the groups
through the internship.
7. All groups will inform their respective faculty mentors about the selected NGO and
submit all the required documents for approval of the same:
8. All members of the group will also identify a mentor at the NGO for regular reporting
feedback and the contact information of the person should be shared with the faculty
mentor at the institute.

As mentioned in section II (4) of the guidelines each one of you is supposed to submit an
individual final internship report at the end of your internship. The submission will be done
both in soft copy and hard copy to your faculty mentor. Make sure that you follow a standard
format for the same which is given as follows:
1. Title page – Institute name with logo, student name, SAP ID, NGO name, NGO mentor
name, faculty mentor name, month and year of internship.
2. Introduction – About the NGO and the type of work they are undertaking.
3. Outcomes – The assignment given to you, details of the project wherein you were
involved, and the targets given by the NGO.
4. Methods – Details of work done by you whether on the field or in the office or both.
Details of methods used by you for undertaking the task and achieving the given targets.
5. Learnings – major learnings drawn at the end of the internship and the outcomes
achieved. Value addition to yourself and to the NGO.
6. Challenges faced – the kind of problems you faced and observed while you were
working along with steps taken to resolve the same.
The following documents must be mandatorily attached along with the report in the following
order only:
1. NGO acceptance and NGO details. (copy of same as submitted before internship)
2. Daily attendance sheet duly signed by NGO mentor.
3. Weekly reports. (one for each week – total 3)
4. NGO Completion certificate. (on NGO letterhead with stamp)
5. Faculty feedback format. (to be filled by faculty after report evaluation)
